Re: James' Studio Build 2024
Re touch screen . How attached are you to having all those channels in the console ??? Could reduce console channel count and insert screen into empty frame section ( I have done vague recollection of it having proper per channel construction with ribbon busses ? Been a while since I saw one ...

Re: 2 bass peaks in the mixing room
In case you hadn’t noticed , the two centre frequencies are harmonically related . Deal with the fundamental and you’ll likely deal with the harmonic. Single pack of rockwool is not going to touch 49hz . You need to address it with either massive depth , or some other means of energy dissipation Bui ...

Interesting! Did you ever run into the folks at Mid Wales Music in Newtown, Powys on your travels? I certainly knew of the shop and I’m pretty sure we met but I’m damned if I can put a face to a name or the name to a shop . We did at one point start looking at property in Aberystwyth and Dolgellau w ...

Re: TLA 2021 Compressor issues
Probably time for new low noise tube from harma and some electrolytic caps , they’re almost certainly beyond spec limits by now . Likely solve most things .

Re: M1 - Music Software
My MBP died at new year so I bought M1 iMac.... and consequently had to also buy new interfaces as my AMT8 is no longer supported Apple released an Intel/ARM version of the Unitor/AMT drivers, if case you didn't know. Re: Strat trem arm springs
I vaguely recall 30+ years ago using the inner spring of a well known pen brand , which had roughly similar diameter as the trem arm thread , i cut the length down a bit , then I wound it right down in to the block thread and it put just enough resistance on the arm to suit my needs at the time ...

Re: Best Amp Simulator
Scuffham amps S gear . No contest . Unlike these two … I am a guitarist ;) I’ve gigged with it live using a laptop as my amp straight to Pa , I’ve used it in the studio , I can make it sound enough like my Laney valve amps to leave even experienced engineers and producers not sure which I used …. Re: New Ferrofish A32 Pro Dante
I like the look of it. DaveB’s A16ultra has been doing conversion duty over here at Shonk , and now at Warehouse , for a while ( the studio should probably buy it to be fair ! ) been bulletproof stable and sounds fine . I’ve no longer need for one personally but I reckon I’d be okay with it if I did ...
