Re: TOR

I've used TOR on occasion with no problems. But for full security you do need to observe instructions to disable some browser options. And, as The Elf has pointed out, it works best hand in hand with a reputable VPN. I have heard reports that among the free VPN offers there are some which are actual...

Re: How long can a Floyd Rose be missing a string?

Missing a string from a trem of any sort will do no harm. But it will be out of tune until the string is replaced. When you get the guitar set-up make a point of keeping the packet for the strings. It will remind you exactly what strings are fitted so you can ensure replacements are the same. Rememb...

Re: guitar string corrosion - any experts out there?

Is this about a problem you experience and hope to resolve? Or is this purely an academic question? In over 45 years of playing I have never experienced corrosion of strings. And in over 30 years as a trained luthier and very experienced tech I struggle to recall clients who had a problem with strin...

Re: Synth sounds that fill in for guitar sonically

Also, thinking about synth sounds filling in for the guitar sonically can be a red herring.

The sound of the guitar isn't that important. What is important is the role the guitar plays in the arrangement and how best you might fulfil that role using a synth instead.
