Re: How do I connect the TC Electronic Finalizer 96k to the Focusrite 18i8?
With two units bi-directionally connected by S/PDIF, one unit (A) is set to work from its internal clock, the other unit (B) is set to work from an external (S/PDIF) clock. Unit B receives the clock signals from unit A, and unit B's outgoing S/PDIF is clocked to the incoming S/PDIF clock, and so it ...

Re: Harmonica vid seems somehow treble-eeyer than when I play it
Remember that it is a music video with them miming to a pre-recorded track, so you don't know what was done to the sound of the harmonica during the recording. It may well have been played through say a green bullet into a small valve amp with a small speaker (so not a lot of bass end) and an amount ...

Re: Most accurate monitors under £700
For what it's worth, I've never noticed any latency when playing through my KH80s. We're only talking about a single analogue to digital conversion after all. Plus a digital to analogue conversion for the signal to the amps within the monitors. And a buffer big enough to hold enough samples to do ...

Re: IEC C7 to IEC C13 converter safe for equipment?
You can get adapters, but it’s always more reliable to use a single lead/cable designed for the job.

Re: Phone Mics
Basically as Sam said. We are being technical - which is important here in your understanding of what’s going on. You will have a linked two track recording with a M/S mic, but it’s not ‘stereo’. One track is Mid and one track is Sides. Just because it looks like a stereo track at first glance doesn’ ...

Just get a C14 to C7 lead and you'll be fine.

Re: Does anyone know how to use a pedal to control the mid-EQ assign knob of a Roland Juno DS-88?
Could you not simply program another patch with the mid EQ increased and jump between patches, or does it take too long to load a new patch?

Re: Anyone using Logic Pro?
You need to read about the various types of panner available in logic. Clicking on the pan control should give options and you want ‘stereo panner’. Once you’ve selected that, to narrow or widen the stereo image, drag the green ring up or down. It’s not as obvious as the stereo balance panner in Cuba ...

Re: Phone Mics
Basically. You can use an iPhone but you'll have a two track recording with mids on one track and sides on the other. So you'll either need to download it and process it in a DAW, or find an iPhone App that will do that for you. There seem to be a few, but I've no idea how easy they are to use or ...

Re: Phone Mics
It's a still a Mid-Side recording, so you're best putting the two tracks through a mid side decoder plugin to give a standard stereo output. You won't want to use the two tracks without any processing.
Hence 'more complex and more processing'.

Re: Analog mixers with DAW workflow?
I will caveat the above good advice with the proviso that if you want to monitor vocal recordings with added reverb, a basic direct monitoring feature isn't going to give you that. You have the option of getting an interface with direct monitoring and built-in reverb that will allow you to add that ...

Re: Bradford soundscreen in Australia
It shouldn't cause any real issues. But as has been mentioned in other threads on similar topics, it helps to give a bit of extra absorption if you cut holes in the sides of the frames (and cover the holes with fabric). it also makes the units a bit lighter. And if you incorporate a 50mm spacing ...

Re: Bradford soundscreen in Australia
If it's the 2.0 stuff you've linked to, then the density is only 25.7kg/m3. I'd ignore it and make panels from denser material. It's only going to deal with high frequencies, which your standard panels will deal with effectively as well as dealing with mid and lower mid frequencies. Double thickness ...

He can but load the driver and see if it works. "Unsupported" doesn't necessarily mean "won't work", but it may well depend on the processor hardware in the Mac.

But it's not a pure MIDI device. Like my MOTU Express 128, it needs drivers to control it in order to get the best performance from it. Mac OS10.9 is the last supported Mac driver from Steinberg.

Re: Low volume on neck pickup after a solder work
You say ‘solder work’ but for a long time EMG have used solderless push-on connections. So what, if any, solder work was involved? The 89XR is essentially two pickups in one housing. Re: Help with Behringer Xenyx 1003B
