Re: BBC Blue Peter Outside Broadcast Electric Milk Float

To be fair, it says "Outside Broadcasts" on it...

Re: Worth a look - Just Ask The Axis: Jimi Hendrix unpicked - Milton Mermikides

Definitely a hero for me, basically the first rock/blues guitarist I discovered decades ago. I thought he was inspirational. But I totally get how one person’s fave can be another’s “Meh, overrated”. It depends where you were at when you heard them.

Couch guitars

I'm currently staying with my mum for a few days to help her out, and pulled this old white Yamaha RGX A2 out of a cupboard to twiddle with while I'm working. I've always had a guitar leaning up by the desk in the hope that I might learn to play it some day...back home it's a Fender Strat. But I ...

Re: Behringer price alert

Synth East 2025

Fun day today manning the Gullsonix stall at Synth East, and explaining the benefits of transpositional invariance to bemused punters. It was nice to play the OSCar previously used by Chris Hugget, and marvel at the mysterious VDU-based synth device that accompanied it. (Apparently it's the only one ...

It will be mainly for home recording not performing modelled instruments (like Pianoteq) Pianoteq is very good, and likely to run on more modest hardware IIRC. (It'll even run on RPi.) My main reflection on music tuition, looking back, is to engage students in what they want to play. I hated the material I was given for early lessons in trumpet/piano/guitar.
