Re: Another newbie MIDI question...

Is there any software (not neccesarily free) that can be told 'this is a drum/bass track' and then adapt the MIDI file so that you get a more representative track I just remembered a program called "Band in a Box" that I used to use donkeys' years ago when I was first getting into compute...

Re: Electronic cornet (or trumpet) for someone with low lung capacity?

The Morrison is out of production. The Akai EWI only requires low breath pressure and has a fingering mode derived from trumpet fingering (and also has built-in sounds), though it's different so will need some re-learning. I went from trumpet to EWI myself though, and I've been very happy with it.

Re: Eviola project

It's wireless-ready, but I haven't tried it yet. (It has a rechargeable USB battery and MIDI DIN that I can use with my wireless MIDI kit.)

I've always been interested in trying an electric cello, but I think I'm happy just to work on this now. At least for now...

Jazz III FTW. The Ultex version is my standard pick, though I still haven't settled on the perfect strumming pick. I can't play rhythm with it.

Re: Eviola project

I found the bow supplied with the Eviola a bit short. It had maxed out JD's laser cutter, but I sent it to a local company and asked for more of the same. The extended version arrived today - this is much closer to the length of a violin bow (though still a little way to go). https://i.imgur.com/n31...

Re: Hardware samplers

In the past I had fun with Akais, Emus, Rolands and Kurzweils. Nowadays I only use Kontakt. Still have fond memories of the Ensoniq ASR10 though; that was classy.

Re: The All-New Behringer Keyboards 'n' Stuff Thread

I am not in love But I'm open to persuasion - Joan Armatrading The new PCBs look beautiful laid out like that; a work of art. I'd love to learn how to do that. The Native Instruments Prophet 5 was the first computer-based synth I ever came across, and I was amazed. I couldn't get my head round it, ...

Re: Authentic MIDI controllers

I had a YAMAHA BC1 breath controller for my Yamaha DX which was nice but there doesnt appear to be anything similar on the market now? The TEControl is the closest. (I've got a Yamaha BC2 that I use with a MIDI Solutions adaptor.) There's also a couple of upmarket options like the MRTAudio and the ...
