Re: Forum slow to

Thanks merlyn - yes, that link confirmed that the user agent switcher I tried had done its job correctly. I tried two or three different options, but despite them confirming that my browser had 'apparently' changed, I still got Error 403 messages. As you mention, the error message does suggest that ...

Having said that, I've just tracked down a schematic that claims to do the job - it looks ok to me, but of course caveat emptor ;) https://www.cameratim.com/electronics/nakamichi-cm300-phantom-power-mod/ https://www.cameratim.com/electronics/nakamichi-cm300-phantom-power-mod/images/phantom-power-33 ...

Re: Calrec Cm652 48V TO 12 V ADAPTOR CABLE QUESTION

There's an existing thread on this topic frm 2010, after Sam Inglis bought the same mic as you on eBay, but sadly no circuit diagram emerged from the discussion:

Re: Forum slow to

I've already tried everything I can think of, and all I can see is right from the outset is:
error403.jpg
Everything had worked perfectly for years until Monday 1st Sept, when the first Error 403 error message popped up, and I haven't been able to access SOS on Brave since then.

Re: JMT Synth?

Yes, it is a bit DIY Dystopian in style, and very confusing to understand the signal flow.

Re: Forum slow to

As it happens, and happen it does, I was tinkering about with Linux last night and browsed to the SOS Forum, to test the 'responsiveness' and on Linux Lite, I think the browser was Firefox, and the responses were instant. Back on Windows Opera now, and back to fits and starts. It's odd, as using ...

Hi Jackie The Shepherd! We already have a thread on this very topic entitled 'Powering up old gear' , started just a few days ago in our DIY | ELECTRONICS | STUDIO DESIGN forum, so I'll lock this thread and refer you (and anyone else interested) to that: https://www.soundonsound.com/forum/viewtopic ...

OK, so the bumping of this thread reminded me that I still hadn't resolved the mystery of G. Stoner Hilcot, so I just spent a few minutes travelling back in time, and have finally discovered his true identity.

Re: Combined XLR / IEC Lead

Just make sure you're actually connecting balanced outs to balanced ins via the XLRs - you're liable to get serious hum problems if any connection is unbalanced

Re: Blues harmonica settings: TCH VoiceLive Play?

In my experience, a lot of the Chicago Blues 'sound' is down to boutique/retro bullet mics and cupping, although anything that mimics a 1950's valve amp will certainly help you along the way ;) Also, harmonicas have a huge frequency range, so try rolling off below 80Hz and above 6kHz before anything ...

Re: Possible 3rd party drives for M-Audio ProFire 2026 to Mac silicon

Google said to set the Profire 2626 clock to internal , which did not sound correct to me. You want the RME DigiFace as the master since it has a newer more accurate clock. I'll try to fix it above. No, see what James has already said: It is usually best to have your main ADC (the Profire) as the ...

Re: Logic just for a change

Tried Cubase and Ableton, got baffled. Tried Sonar and liked it but could never get it absolutely stable. Switched to Reaper and... it just worked. Yes, there are aspects which are a bit complex but on the other hand a lot of stuff is very logical. Tracks are just tracks, not midi tracks or audio ...

Re: The cold reality of synthesizers

The patch I came up with for the Hydrasynth that sounds like a bunch of people talking in an ambient environment, for instance, is pretty astonishing, (it came out of experiments with randomisation, followed by some tweaking), and I would never have thought it possible until I accidentally ...
