If the material is dear to you. Perhaps consider getting a quote from James Perrett (of this forum) https://www.jrpmusic.co.uk/ to undertake the work.
EDIT: just spotted Kwackman thought the same thing as me

Re: Mixing assistance for an album
All of the comments about the intro being too long don't take account of where this composition will be sequenced in an album journey.
Niche genres don't have to be 100% Spotify friendly!
OP maybe consider releasing some 2 to 4 track EPs before an album.
Good luck ^_^

Re: Finding a mixer / masterer?
Look for guys who are working from studios and working for established artists eg: https://www.hackney-road.com/engineers-hr I'm always very happy to recommend Shuta. Provide as much info about track count, length etc and provide a current rough mix (if possible) in your opening email. So they can g...

Re: Monitoring frustration
Sorry to hear that you're struggling with your room. There's plenty of good advice in this thread, so here's an alternate perspective: Do you primarily consider yourself a artist (musician / songwriter / composer / band member) OR a mix engineer? If you consider yourself to be an artist rather than ...

Re: In the Market for a New Windows Machine
Buy new and from SCAN, I'd advocate against a laptop. A desktop or rack system will last longer (maybe a decade with a few repairs along the way):

Hang on for a couple of months and push the budget a little if you can.

Re: Bought my first mic pre amp….Mic Suggestions
I reckon CAD M179s are good mics. Been on my radar after reading last year Hugh's review from over 2decades earlier. Long radar! I came across them when I worked for an engineer who has won a few BAFTAs. He always used a couple of CAD M179s for recording foley and often strategically set a one or t...

ManFromGlass wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 12:06 pm It needs to be a plugin as sometimes I need the drum to ring off. I figure I just automate the On/Off of the plug in Logic and viola violin!
Have you tried Logic's Enveloper?

Re: MAGIX is insolvent
Yes exactly!
A few rock-stars in tech can do the work of 100s of perfectly able men and women. It's shocking how much more useful the very top performers are.

Re: Resources for studying arrangements
I've ordered Mike Senior's highly recommended book on mixing, and I wondered if anyone new of a similar 'start' resource around arranging? Russell Garcia's The Professional Arranger Composer - Book 1 might be what you are looking for. Though I'm not sure without more knowlege of what you are trying...

Re: Coughs and Flu Vox Aftermath
It struck me that were it a contracted project - or other such pro thing, a simple winter bug would just stop things in their tracks completely for as long as it took for someone's voice to return to normal. Disastrous! Any singers out there who this sort of thing has actually happened to? I'm curi...

Re: Synth recommendations please
I reckon you'd like the Roland Gaia. Lots of knobs and faders. The white version can be had for about 300 to 350 pounds in the UK.
The Novation is very nice, however it's not easy to program from the front panel (the software editor is excellent).

Re: Does it ever go away?
This urge to make music and compose new tunes. I's always been going on in my head ever since I can remember anything. If I don't do something about it periodically, it all mounts up and I start going a bit bonkers. No the compulsion just seems to get worse and worse. ...what's your coping strategy...

Re: Cancelled Distrokid before a new release- am I mad?
For the videos, I'm using a theme of space travel, the gritty realistic near future kind where things take a long time and are messy, and people learn about themselves and humanity along the way. I was inspired by Com Truise. He writes a story first, then composes the music as if it was for a film ...

Re: Cancelled Distrokid before a new release- am I mad?
I do not think that you are mad. Madness would be to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result. I currently think the best solution for digital releases is having a single distributor, who's ethos aligns with your own. For instance, my last album was only sold digitally by Cafe Oto:...
