Does anything in your chain have a connection to earth? Maybe it needs one?

EDIT - ignore the above, it looks like the OctoPre DOES have an earth.

Re: Weird electrical problem

Silly question maybe, but are you sure it’s the heater?
Have you spent a long time in the studio without the heater plugged in? (Not likely in the winter!)
If not, then it’s possible the ring might trip without the heater, and the problem could be somewhere else?

Re: Taking gear to the USA?

For remote gigs I run my entire rig from my laptop (using Cantabile), so all I need are physical USB-equipped keyboards and an audio interface. What kind of music is this Elf? The only thing I know about you is that we share a penchant for Hedgehogs I'm afraid. Got a website or anything? Lol! No ...

Re: Japan - UK step down confusion

SOME pictures of the QX3 show it with a DC input jack, for an external power unit, but the manual shows a mains cable directly connected (no socket), and a review mentions a power connector!
So, what's on the back of your QX3?

Re: W.H.Smith to restock vinyl across 80 stores!

My idea was to digitize some of my vinyl but I am going to have to find some way to deep clean them first. IMHO it's a lot of grief to digitise vinyl. Clean it, play it into your computer (obviously in real time) then edit it into the separate tracks, then labelling the tracks and artist details ...

It needs P48, so needs to run into a mic pre.

Another great suggestion destroyed! :(

Re: Audient id44 Mk II?

It might be worth downloading the owners manual, esp for the iD software if that's possible. It should tell you about the feeds to the headphones and if they can be independent.
FWIW, I've had an iD22 (original model) for many years, it's used most days, and has been very reliable.

Large choice of colours and fairly cheap.
