Re: Does anyone use Teams?

No, I do not use it, unless a client sends a link for a meeting that uses it.

At SOS we use Gmeet, and Zoho Meeting, plus most clients use Zoom.

Re: Behringer FLOW 8 problem

If you're unsure whether phantom might be on the line ALWAYS connect via a DI box (a passive type is fine in this application) or line isolation transformer box. In fact, in a live sound situation I'd always a DI box or line iso transformer box anyway because its too easy for someone to switch on ...

Re: SOS Android App broken?? (iOS works fine)

I've just re-subscribed to SOS after several years away and I have to admit, the lack of a working android app is a real disappointment to me, as the app made the SOS experience slick and easy when I subscribed before. Having to download PDFs everywhere is not great :( . Fingers crossed you get ...

Sorry, but Google are playing silly beggars, and we simply still cannot talk to a human these days at Alphabet who understands what an App for their Google Play store is! It is deeply frustrating. Re: Synthesizer V, Felicia & Riku

But most things I’ve heard done by it sound completely unnatural. SV2Pro is way better than SV1. John Walden's examples he created could easily be on Spotify, in my view, and the movement already begun to insist Spotify create a dedicated AI-musician Playlist might have merit. Reality is, most Pop m ...

Re: Synthesizer V, Felicia & Riku

John Walden has written an update review on Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro in our coming (Thursday 19th June 2025) JULY cover issue. Here's some of the audio examples he recorded to accompany his review: https://soundcloud.com/soundonsound/sets/dreamtonics-synthesizer-v-studio-2-pro It is impressive ...

Re: What is 'Original'?

It was like Lulu singing The Man Who Sold The World . Just...go away. :-) Midge Ure's cover of TMWSTW is very listenable and moody (though of its time and in his Ultravox style). It would have been a hit but he underplayed the great Mick Ronson hook riff, replacing it with a string synth(?)... take ...

Re: PMT in Administration - stores closed

Somewhere like Thomann can employ staff for each department that know that department inside out and as such there is not many instruments that at least one staff member doesn't know inside out, I doubt many local music shops employ a master piano builder for starters! Re: PMT in Administration - stores closed

As a customer you want to support your local businesses but sometimes it just doesn't add up. My local music shop is actually Gear4Music but I bought my sub from Bax because they were £300 cheaper! There's only so far I'm willing to stretch to help someone else make a profit. Bax, of course, have ...

Re: PMT in Administration - stores closed

Really sad. :( Particularly feel for the guys in the store finding themselves jobless. Been there, done that. Indeed. And with a dwindling number of retail music stores around, it's not like they can walk into a job at the shops that are still fighting the good fight. I too wish them well and hope ...

For years I lusted after a Variax electric and acoustic. Me too! My monster fantasy guitar would consist of the best bits of Variax, Parker Fly, Fernandez sustainer, automatic multi-tuning tuners that actually work, maybe Gizmotron bits and built in feedback-initiating parts like the Sustainiac ...

Hi,

SETTINGS > ACCESSIBILITY > DISPLAY then scroll down to POINTER
It is controlled in SETTINGS > Accessibility > DISPLAY then scroll down to POINTER and change settings/colours. Maybe switch OFF the Shake mouse to locate Pointer option also if that's causing you any problems?

Re: Forum very slow

Yep, a large % of corporates are using automated AI Chat Bots for all of their customer-facing "customer service" enquiries... at least, the initial wave until it loops round to the fork that says "pass to a human to resolve".

Re: GAK have closed their shop

My initial reaction was that their margins were minuscule but they have paid 54 staff and 4 directors salaries before that profit is calculated and I'll bet part of the reason the 'profit' is so small it to minimise their corporation tax burden (they only paid corporation tax on £9000 of 'profit' ...
