Re: Reaper: is Cockos still alive and well?

It took Steinberg almost 3 months to respond to my Cubase licensing query, and it wasn’t an issue that could be solved via a forum. I don’t know how long you’ve waited for a response from Cockos, but I bet it’s not as long as that. They must love you. I bet you wore your Sos mankini when raising a t ...

Re: Phones for mixing ?

I've always been a believer in 'getting along' with your cans and understanding its strengths and weaknesses, unless they are truly bad. If that fails, then correction software can be very helpful. I've used all manner of cans and adapted to all of them. Nowadays, I'm an LCD-X user. I find, with my ...

Re: When will I start to lose my high frequency hearing?

Apart from the usual high tinnitus I've recently had a low frequency noise that comes and goes, after speaking to a doctor they ordered some blood tests but nothing has been diagnosed based on that. I feel for you buddy. My tinnitus is crippling. It began around a decade ago with a 24/7 sine wave ...

Re: Audio Quality & Loudness Advice

I mix in two ways: the old-school intern's method of listening to the mix at conversation level, and if something is lost, go back to the mix. I also listen loud, which allows me to hear detail that would otherwise be masked at low volume. You can make anything loud whilst maintaining audio fidelity ...

Re: Audient ID 4 No volume problem (fixed)

It could be a Win security update. I recently had the same issue with my Audient id22 after a Win 'update'...Software console faders reset and it all works fine. Strange, as it's not a problem I've experienced before.

Re: Which organs were used in these vintage recordings?...

Cool article on the Hammond:

I used to use Hammonds in dem days but I did stumble upon a clonish type of company - Voce, and I decided to buy their V4 which turned out to be quite usable.

It's mainly for the first octave of the Himalayan bowls she has.
