Re: Stream Deck Adaption ....... For New Album

I use a Cubase Stream Deck plug-in. Unfortunately there are many commands that are not supported, so I do still have to use the MIDI plug-in too. Given the hundreds of possible Cubase commands it's forgivable, but I do wish the writer would expand it. If anyone is interested (and for anyone writing...

Re: The nth question about which laptop to purchase

Im a very very long time PC user that recently switched to Mac. I see no difference in availability or cost of software between the 2 platforms. Both have their quirks, Windows can be fussy over thunderbolt, Mac isn't. But Mac does want things run in legacy mode (RME drivers) whatever that is so bot...

Re: Proposed Garage or Hobby Studio Layout - Comments

You might want to consider some more bass trapping behind the speakers/back wall and/or and maybe some diffusion on the back wall, especially if you're doing anything with a lot of bass like EDM or some such. Your mix room is nearly 6 meters in length so im pretty sure you're going to get modes clos...

Re: Sonarworks is great and begs a question...

I posted a very similar thing a while back and got absolutely panned…however.. It seems to me that a sonarworks hardware host already exists inside the Adam monitors like the A7V series. They have the converters, DSP and Ethernet hook up. I can’t see it being that difficult to stick it in a standalo...

Re: What is the most professional USB audio interface out there?

What this thread shows me, is that there is a definite move not just on this forum but on the internet as a whole to a point where a 'question' has become more an individual seeking validation or affirmation of a decision or belief they have convinced themselves is true rather than the need to find ...

Re: What is the most professional usb audio interface out there?

Hi there. I’m sorry if what I’m gonna say sounds elitist and judgemental, but the question you’re asking, and the way you’re asking it leads me to think that the ‘most professional’ (whatever that means) interface isn’t going to help you. There are so many factors that go into choosing an interface ...

Re: Foam Panels

I'd be very wary of buying ANY 'acoustic' treatment from any source that doesn't declare its effectiveness at any particular frequency. As has been stated above Foam which claims to be effective at lower frequencies just isn't...so you don't know what you're buying and what effect it will have in yo...

Re: Going all analog synths suggestions

I Recently went on a bit of 'synth mission' as a change to my workflow as and aid to the creative process. I added a Hydrasynth, MS-1, Pro-1, Model D and a Korg R3 to my Kong Prophecy (my fav synth ever) and existing arsenal of VST instruments from Rob Papen, Arturia and NI. After the initial excite...

Re: Good But Cheap Audio Interface With Optical Input

Hi there I'd look at the Audient ID14.

https://audient.com/products/audio-inte ... /overview/

It has everything you've asked for, and is great value. The quality of conversion for your monitoring is also excellent.

Its currently retailing for 160 quid.

Re: Hey Everyone I'm Struggling to get the right mood in my mix

Hi Nick. Just had a listen. Things I would look at; the wow and flutter in the initial loop, yeah its a cool sound but its so out of tune that it pulls my ear...maybe use a bit less so it stays 'almost' in tune or put whatever effect you are using on a send and bring some of the effect up under the ...

Re: Steinberg unveil Cubase 13

Seems pretty stable for me atm....
not played too much, but the purchase from their new online store was quick and easy as was the download.

Not sure if the 'fresh new look' is an improvement, but vocal chain seems useful and the Vocoder rocks....

Re: 1980s American Fender Precision issues & luthier recommendations/suggestions

"the truss rod is fine"

worries me a bit - fine means it works, not its adjusted correctly?
string changes can put more/less tension on the neck if its a different gauge, are you certain its setup correctly?

Re: Installing Cubase on new PC

Download the download assistant and chose Cubase, install. Be aware that there's a load of instruments and libraries you get with Pro 12 but don't install them yet. When you install Cubase you will get the library manager as well. my suggestion would be to change the library location before you inst...

Re: Mackie HR824 Opinions.

all I know at the moment is what I don’t like, Yamahas are too bright for me, they are probably good for aging rockers with shot hearing. Neumanns are strange, they are popular, but there’s something not quite right about them to my ears. I need an accurate monitor that’s capable of portraying a re...

I would imagine they will be better then the Behringers - from memory the Behringers (assuming were talking about the 'Truths') ripped them off! I had some for a while.
