Re: EdiMIDI - A polyrhythmic sequencer in the works

It reminds me a little of Electroplankton I can see how it might - I really like that  I'm aiming to get an experimental release out before Christmas for folks to play with which will make EdiMIDI musically useful as opposed to a 'make nice random noises' thing. The user interface is, as a...

Re: Christmas Pi

As a VERY happy owner of two already, I can thoroughly recommend them to anyone. They not only sound great, they are a bit different, beautifully put together and huge fun to play with.

:clap::thumbup:

Audio demos can be found here and here.

Re: One Synth Challenge 2023

A few days ago I came up with something brand new that pleased me and was perfect for the OSC. While visiting my sisters earlier this evening I was randomly doodling on their piano and realised that the doodle in question was perfect as an addition to the piece. The hardest thing for me was choosing...

Re: Should I try Luna?

I've no experience with Luna but the best advice I can think of is to try it and see how you get on with it ;)

Re: Guitar Player Question About Keyboards

I see! It all sounds amazingly clever stuff - like having a mod wheel available on every key! Which it is anyway - but like having 61 or 88 virtual mod wheels? A keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch does indeed have something akin to a mod wheel under each key but most keyboards have channel afterto...

Re: Going all analog synths suggestions

.... would like to try a new challenge in my life - a full analog synth setup. Here I mean 100% analog signal path, the only digital part would be my DAW to record the master. ... I'm all into synthwave music, so my question is, what synths and other hardware should I buy/would you suggest? I would...

Re: EdiMIDI - A polyrhythmic sequencer in the works

I'm still working on developing the interface that will allow some actual configuration but in the meantime I've brightened things up a bit, solved the crackly audio problem and added dynamic bezier curves to the hard-coded proof-of-concept configuration. http://deegan.org/EdiMIDI/EdiMIDI_Alpha_0.1_...

Re: Modular Frustrations

Music has been a major prisoner my whole life, and it’s often not the things we have no control over, the things we can’t change, that are the issue, it’s the things we can change, but can’t, or don’t want to change, for some reason. Tony, try to stop over-thinking it, just create music. You're goo...

EdiMIDI - A polyrhythmic sequencer in the works

An idea came to me while I was under medication and dealing with needles during my recent state of unwellness. Once able, I got onto the PC and prototyped a proof-of-concept, written in C, which I've christened "EdiMIDI". I have a huge amount of work to do on this not least of which is con...

Re: Question for musicians who are also Mike Oldfield fans

Ommadawn is a favourite of mine. Mike Oldfield is a condundrum in some ways in that he's written some albums I can listen to tirelessly yet along the way has also put out stuff that doesn't work for me at all. His best (to my ears) is exquisite though. I reckon he's just doing stuff he likes and the...

Re: One Synth Challenge 2023

The percussion thing was Dave B's idea when he used to do it because he didn't like synth percussion. If I could change the rules now, I'd make it _everything_ in one synth :D It's your project Rich. If you want to create a new Rules thread we can sticky it in place of the old and it's early enough...

Re: One Synth Challenge 2023

It doesn't really matter but traditionally we keep the synth used a secret until everyone's had a chance to have a listen and make guesses as to who created which track, and with what synth :)
