Re: 4 PM's not spam, but not for me

I've had about 7 or 8 so far and I haven't logged into this site in years. Welcome back :-) ... but apologies for the inconvenience. To recap for anyone catching up, a message was mistakenly sent in the form of a private message to every user instead of being posted as a new topic in the public for...

Re: 4 PM's not spam, but not for me

Yes, I expect there will be a number of messages flying around for a while in the PM system before it all settles down. At this point, please don't reply to any of the messages in that particular PM thread , especially as at least some people appear to be receiving multiple copies of every PM sent t...

Re: What should I choose Digital Piano or Keyboard?

There is a difference between an instrument and a MIDI controller. The M-Audio Keystation 88 is a MIDI controller. It has no onboard sounds of its own and relies completely on soft-synths and/or other hardware synthesizers to provide actual sound. There is a place for MIDI controllers - I have a cou...

Re: Yoshimi 2.1.2

I am going to clamber over the mountain of stuff in the storage room that used to be my studio, plug an ethernet cable into my Yoshimi-Pis and update them. It has been months of chaos here but the new studio is waiting for the plasterer now. Looks like January before he's available but he does a spl...

Re: Before I render a lot of video, advice on the audio settings (dialogue), please

As purely a listener as opposed to an expert in such matters, it is indeed intelligible but the 's' sounds come across more as filtered white noise to me and it sounds almost as if it was synthesized speech despite it obviously not being. I listened to three versions posted thus far and the same cou...

Oi!. I'm watching you :protest:

There is comfort to be taken there insofar as it wasn't a finger or a grep ;)

Re: Report your known delays

Kurzweil K2700.

I pre-ordered one in early July and it was originally supposed to be available in early September. It then got shifted to mid November but the latest now is mid January 2022.

It'll be worth the wait though IMHO.

Re: Reaper or Studio One for drum tracking?

I used Reaper for a while and whereas it did the job I never felt truly comfortable with it so I looked around. Eventually I settled on Studio One. I struggled to get along with it for a while but after going through the learning curve and the frustrations that came with it I now realise that most o...

Re: Korg Trinity Factory Pre-Load

Sorry it was a day late, something came up yesterday, but here we go: TrinityFactory.stx This is a MIDI Ox .syx file of a whole system dump (and I suspect the global config state also) of my Trinity, which is currently in factory mode. As I understand it, this is a pure binary file of data emitted f...

Re: Gullfoss

Originally iLok left a bad taste in my mouth after I'd been forced to use it on a collection of plugins I'd bought, and as each one was installed and licenced it would upset the licensing of one that had been done before. Then, randomly, when I was running the plugins in a session I'd get notificati...
