Re: Pitch shifter plugin

It sounds more like an auto-wah/filter effect to me as well. I think it's also effecting the attack of each note albeit in a more subtle manner than the end.

Re: Streaming services sound quality

In an A/B comparison I can reliably tell the difference between MP3 and WAV-or-FLAC (and I enjoy the listening more when it's lossless) despite the fact I'm not great at hearing frequencies above 12kHz or so. There's something about the dynamic range that I pick up on readily. I don't think I could ...

Re: Weird limit on Yamaha SY35/SY22 mod wheel resolution.

I don't have an SY22 but out of curiousity I tested an SY85. The resolution on the mod wheel is as one would hope, all the values from 0x00 to 0x7F in steps of 0x01 so it looks like something Yamaha did on some of the smaller models in the SY series.

Re: Back to Berlin School -- again!

That sounds like a fun exercise, and I like the way that the sounds change as the piece progresses. It would make a very good base on which to hang other things. I found myself imaging all sort of overdubs as I listened  Thx! The chord progression is solid, imo; but I don't want to explore...

Re: Music production as a living - does not add up! Any thoughts?

Thus, if people are listening to your tracks (=demand), enjoying them, then your tracks (=supply) have a value. End of story. It is simple as that. ... The value is there, but some people has decided that there is no value, The question is, is the value to the listener enough to part with money in ...

Re: Stream Deck Adaption ....... For New Album

I used a tablet holder as opposed to a phone one but it works a treat :D

Re: On behalf of a friend: recording Gong Baths

Thank you for the helpful responses :)

It would seem worth trying one of the handhelds first and using that as a baseline in the event they want to improve on it. The duvet sounds sensible also ... don't they always?!

I'll pass the information back and see how he wants to proceed.

Re: Stream Deck Adaption ....... For New Album

This is an excellent idea and well executed

I'm inspired to do something similar with my Stream Deck XL because currently it's not very useful in the shadow of the large mixing desk/control surface!

On behalf of a friend: recording Gong Baths

A friend of mine asked me if I could obtain some advice with regards to recording gongs (he referenced this video as an example of the kind of gong used). Microphones and related techniques not being my strong points I'd be grateful for some knowledgable input to pass on. He's a qualified yoga instr...
