Re: Putting ourselves out of work
I studied piano through lessons and practice - certainly done 10000 hours! I’ve learnt guitar and am still having lessons- not 10000 hours! I’ve studied Logic and read the manual - seemed like 10000 hours! I’ve seen stuff on YouTube (so who knows if it’s real and “spontaneous “) of folk who have done ...

Re: SOS @ 40 - give us your Comments!
Sound on Sound has been my go to reference since 1986 when I first started home recording! I think it’s fair to say you’ve taught me most of what I know about the mechanics of audio and ably assisted me in spending a shed load of cash on excellent products over the intervening years! Synth Secrets an ...

Re: Help me identify this synth
Well it sounds like a simple poly from that era, maybe a Juno or Korg polysix with reverb. I’d say either could get you very close. Maybe experiment with a freebie like https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1-Instruments/4-Synth/435-TAL-U-NO-62?srsltid=AfmBOorh5lzv_tx-wh14ag1l-1 ...

Re: Using Guitar Amps as Keyboard Amps? (or Bass Amps)
I use the Amplitude and Positive Grid JC120 as my main guitar emulation and the odd Minimoog input!
Nice

Re: World changing life changing milestone keyboard wanted, now
I’ve often enjoyed Martin Peters’ work with modular, normally melodic and interesting - certainly his music seems to reflect his life!

Re: World changing life changing milestone keyboard wanted, now
I plumped for the Moog One rather than go modular and have never regretted it. It’s very special probably broke Moog (!) but it can do everything I need, plus it feels like an instrument not a computer. I played it the other day after a while and was blown away again by its easy complexity. Moog r ...

Re: Logic Pro X Audio Unrecognizable Due To Sample Rate Error
Are tempo values changed?
Is Varispeed active?
Have you rebooted your Mac and reloaded you project?
Are all files audio or have you midi there too? Is that the same?

We're going to keep doing all of the above as and when necessary. And long may it continue Eddy, this forum is a remarkable oasis in the swamp of half truths and opinion masquerading as fact that litters the rest of the internet. If people wish to protest or create more division, there are other ...

Oasis - what’s the story?
Just read the BBC reviews of the first date live last night. Gushing! Anyone seeing(seen) them like to chip in on the sound and performance?
I sang along back in the day, but decided I could manage without seeing them live this reunion. Was that a mistake I’m wondering?

I've also brought this to the attention of the higher-ups to give a considered answer. Re: Drum tuner VST
I use BFD and yes you can “tune” the samples. Tuning section Tune / st The Tune function increases (clockwise from centre position) or decreases (anti-clockwise from centre position) the pitch of the Drum. It is possible to tune Drums up to an octave away from its original pitch. The amount of tun ...

I don't think I have bought any hardware, and much software, without first being informed by an SOS review.

I’m awaiting the SOS review. (Hoping it’s soonish). This is where SOS is invaluable over all those YouTube “independent “ reviews. Re: Stopping buying stuff
How true! They still leave lots of files scattered all over my Mac, particularly if you try to set up ...

Re: Arturia Update
Well I did it eventually. I’m not convinced the preference to install on an external disk in ASC helped matters. So a very manual deletion of all Arturia components including ASC and reinstalled to local disk managed it. Not great but everything now works including all presets. Although my presets a ...
