Oasis - what’s the story?

Just read the BBC reviews of the first date live last night. Gushing! Anyone seeing(seen) them like to chip in on the sound and performance?

I sang along back in the day, but decided I could manage without seeing them live this reunion. Was that a mistake I’m wondering?

Re: Advertising Revenue from Israel

I've also brought this to the attention of the higher-ups to give a considered answer. One of the most remarkable things about this community is its ability to be a place where music and music making is paramount and even when the odd non musical topic pops up, discussion is balanced and evidence ...

Re: PMT in Administration - stores closed

As a customer you want to support your local businesses but sometimes it just doesn't add up. My local music shop is actually Gear4Music but I bought my sub from Bax because they were £300 cheaper! There's only so far I'm willing to stretch to help someone else make a profit. Bax, of course, have ...

Re: Drum tuner VST

I use BFD and yes you can “tune” the samples. Tuning section Tune / st The Tune function increases (clockwise from centre position) or decreases (anti-clockwise from centre position) the pitch of the Drum. It is possible to tune Drums up to an octave away from its original pitch. The amount of tun ...

Re: New Moog Messenger

I don't think I have bought any hardware, and much software, without first being informed by an SOS review.

^This, the only exception being a Minimoog! Although I was pleased it did get a good review subsequently :D

Re: New Moog Messenger

I’m awaiting the SOS review. (Hoping it’s soonish). This is where SOS is invaluable over all those YouTube “independent “ reviews. In fact I did wonder some time ago if there might be a SOS video review channel to complement some of the other great video stuff? Maybe too onerous to do properly alongs ...

Re: Realistic Guitar VSTs for keyboard DAW play

I use MusicLab instruments a lot and now supplement that with my growing guitar skills (coughs a little) Anyway Im pretty sure it does translate the keyboard chords and voicing to proper guitar fingering IIRC and the humanise functions are stellar. Ive been a tester for their instruments for ...

Re: Stopping buying stuff

How true! I dread updating too, and is it one of those dratted download managers that are more pervasive these days. these managers should make the process easier, seamless and tidy but not in my experience. They still leave lots of files scattered all over my Mac, particularly if you try to set up ...

Re: Arturia Update

Well I did it eventually. I’m not convinced the preference to install on an external disk in ASC helped matters. So a very manual deletion of all Arturia components including ASC and reinstalled to local disk managed it. Not great but everything now works including all presets. Although my presets a ...

Re: Arturia Update

I am on V Collection 10 at the moment and was offered an update for all the instruments which has caused presets to be lost and blank screens when loading instruments. Re: Your favourite synth filters?

The one I use as my reference, my yardstick, is the Moog ladder in the Minimoog. I like creamy sounding, gentle and “musical” behavior. I didn’t like the MS20 by way of example too strident, still don’t but did like the Hydrasynth digital emulations. I like messing with the Kronos digital filters whi ...

Re: Dongleless iLok Question

Assuming that you're only working on one at a time, this is what iLok Cloud should allow you to do. Install on all 6 machines, sign in and sign out when you're using a machine to activate. How well it actually works I don't know... I can say it works fairly well. A pop up asks if you want to ...

Re: UJAM Sparkle 2 free...

Well I’ve just installed it and I had an invoice that says I purchased it for 0, nothing about time limit. The app you download to access the UJAM samples does allow free trials of other non purchased instruments. Maybe that’s the confusion?

I rate Arturia Pigments

I really rate Arturia Pigments. It’s a great synth for sound design and covers many basses ( ;) ). Sample, wave table, analogue and recently harmonic, it does it all. Added to which the Arturia FX are first class. I’ve started using it a lot recently and it is hugely capable. I kinda think if you can ...

I was in your position and in the end did go for the Studio display. It’s over expensive for sure, but it works perfectly, has a beautiful display to stare at for hours and great connectivity.
