Re: So, what did you treat yourself to this Xmas?

Thanks Andy and Eddy! I really hope so because my body is pretty broken right now! Had to take a delivery of concrete yesterday by wheelbarrow. Four of us. One shovelling, two barrowing and one raking and filling. Back breaking stuff! Very exciting though! Day off today and back to it in the morning...

Re: So, what did you treat yourself to this Xmas?

I bought a house! A doer-upper. A shell. Holy sh1t have I got my work cut out! The site is fantastic though. Totally worth it. My commute has literally doubled in distance but it’s so peaceful. We love it. Hopefully we’ll be in by April. We’re trying to do things as cheap as we can so I’m working ev...

Re: Microcassette

Dave, I have a couple of microcassette recorders, only one of which is working IIRC but I’d happily digitize the tape for you if postage to Ireland isn’t too much. Maybe wait a while to see if anyone more local can help, and in the meantime I’ll have to make sure my other dictaphone is working, but ...

Re: Dynamics linking on Calrec consoles

I'm genuinely shocked! :o This isn't a broadcast thing, it's a fundamental basic of using dynamics processors in all multichannel situations to avoid unwanted stereo (or multichannel) image shifts as a result of momentary gains reductions in one channel relative to the others. You see, I told you I...

Dynamics linking on Calrec consoles

Perhaps a question for any broadcast sound people….. Below is an excerpt from the manual for the Calrec Artemis: Dynamics Links The compression gain reduction level of multiple paths can be bused together using dynamics links. Paths that share a common dynamics link, will all get the same amount of ...

Re: Sequential Prophet 5 vs Moog Memorymoog vs Yamaha CS60

Vintage synths can be an expensive hassle to maintain so, like Arpangel, I’d look at the recent Prophet 10 from Sequential.

Re: Looking for a decent pedal power supply

I haven't used the Styrmon, but I do have a few of their pedals and the quality is top notch. I'd imagine their power supplies are too. I doubt you'd go wrong by getting one. I have a Palmer PWT 05 MkII which would seem to fit your needs. 5x 9V outputs @ 250mA each - costs about €80. Not s...
