Re: Anyone using Mac Mini M1/2 for gigs?
I'm using an M1 MBP 13" with MainStage, two controllers and a Focusrite 2i4 interface, It's proved to be very flexible and I've had no problems with performance, on some quite complex MainStage Rigs full of splits and layers, with Apple, NI and Arturi instruments

Re: Wireless headphone latency
The latest incarnation of Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE gets real world latency down in 15ms territory. I’ve read that theoretical latencies of around 7-8 might be achievable. You are down to audio interface territory. But in your situation you’d need a BT LE transmitter as well. Don’t know what’s out the...

Re: Portable controller keyboard with audio interface
The keystage looks great
Now if it came in white with red endcheeks (or at least not wood ones)
Why can plank spankers get their instruments in all kinds of funky finishes and keyboard players just suffer whatever the manufacturer decides (usually black)

Re: Looking for the best mic to record reels (200-400 euros)
Are you sitting, standing moving about?
Is it like a news desk kind of thing?
Personally I'd be looking at a good lavalier lapel microphone. they are discrete, and give you a pretty clear and neutral vocal.

Re: Tascam Model 24?
So, what exactly is this 32R? Is it an interface? From the PreSonus website: The StudioLive® 32R digital mixer is four audio tools in two compact rackspaces. Use it as a standalone digital mixer with UC Surface remote mixing software. Pair it with your StudioLive Series III console mixer to use as ...

Re: Keys behaviour
I've had my sticky paws on a Hydrasynth just once, and yes; they are very impressive, and the keybed feels lovely, but... It's only the keybed I want, and there doesn't seem to be any likelihood of that (or something like it) becoming available any time soon  I thought ASM were licensing the k...

Re: Keys behaviour
The thing is, this comes up reasonably regularly on the keyboard forum. And I think it's because as keyboard players we are more accepting of sub-standard keybeds.
Whereas our plank-spanking brethren next door are a far more finicky bunch and value playability much more highly

Re: New Breadcrumbs annoying
Yes, it was Wonks who raised it . The reason is that the forum sits within and as a sub-section of the entire SOS site, so HOME is the website homepage. FORUM INDEX is exactly that. It's all perfectly logical and consistent, provided you're looking at the big picture! :D Sorry Hugh, you misundersto...

Re: Keys behaviour
So what do we think happened since the 80s? I too have fond recollection of the DX7 key 'feel'. I also had a lot of love for the Roland D50, even my Casio VX1 had a really great synth action. Comparing to typical modern 61 note keybeds (particularly those in MIDI controllers!) they are night and day...

Please don’t do it. AI art is an already cringeworthy fad and looks terrible. The same people pushing this were pushing monkey NFTs a couple of years ago. Look up how that turned out. Re: Who has used Reverb — the marketplace?
Well, to draw the thread to a conclusion, it all worked well. The French dealer was easy to deal with, La Poste handed the stand off to Parcelforce who sent me the VAT/duty invoice by post, which I paid online and less than 24 hours after that I have my splendid new Quiklok stand https://i.imgur.com...

Re: Who has used Reverb — the marketplace?
What an absolute pain in the posterior! The retailer is super cool, but because they’re in France, I need to pay duty, so the courier (La Poste) tracking tells me the parcel is being held awaiting payment. But I don’t know which courier has the job of the UK leg of the journey (and the La Poste trac...
