but then the next bank of 32 channels you access by clicking on the relevant tab again at the top of the screen. Wanted to highlight this as this is the way. On the IO page, there's the SLink or other tabs and you should see some little boxes under the "Slink" name, that denotes another page of ...

Re: Allen & Heath SQ5
Above is correct. You have 48 channels to mix with, which can be taken from 64 available inputs s-link or dante. The USB connection (if that matters to you) allows 32 channels recording, and you have to use the routing page to select which channels go to the USB output.

Re: Trolley/cart for PA?
If it were me I'd probably be going for the Gravity CART L 01 B. Those wheels look like they can roll over a bump or 2. While sack trucks are good, I find them a bit more a liability over certain terrains. The 4 wheel cart option is usually better as long as the wheels are decent size. Of course ...

Re: Muting Dante outputs from the Behringer X32
Yeah, good point Hugh. You can get up to 32 outs using the Output 1-16 and the P16 and Aux1-6/mon combination. But if you use any more than 8 outs to send audio to L+R or monitors, you're not going to be able to hit the 32 channel send. I'm almost always using at least 10 outs during my shows when ...

Re: Muting Dante outputs from the Behringer X32
It's not a feature that's possible on the X32 from what I can see as there are no "direct outputs" on the channel. So when routing to the Dante Card out, it's just taking it direct from the pre-amp. Unless someone comes along to disagree with me. I couldn't find the option on mixing station or the ...

Re: Rcf 932a - worthy upgrade?
No idea how RCF can justify the price of the covers! Not having my sewing machine licence, I've gone for much more affordable third party padded slip-over covers instead. They don't make the covers themselves from what I gather. When I ordered some for a client (they insisted on the branded cover ...

Re: Rcf 932a - worthy upgrade?
I recently had cause to actually get in the game of PA ownership and went for a system by a relatively new brand - AEDAudio. They had dual 6.5" and (quote) "1x 1,4” throat – 3” voice coil Neodymium" on the top. Quite light to carry outside of the flightcase! They do Solid15 (15") subs and Soild28 (du ...

Re: USB Connecter Liability On Stage!
While I've never had a USB connection fail on me live, I've seen the state that some performers allow their gear to get into and it doesn't surprise me that their connection fails. I've seen people roughly shove things into bags and yank gear around in ways that makes me wonder how it survives one ...

Re: Slate VMS-2 mic instead of two or more others?
To follow up on the bolded part above: what is your usual vocal mic, and does the VMS-2 U87 model put it to shame?! I've not got the pockets for a U87 so can't compare. Before the ML1 my vocal mic was a C414, and the ML1 is certainly a better mic for me, As Hugh points out there are limitations to ...

Re: Rcf 932a - worthy upgrade?
A local venue that I work at got 4 of the NX912SMA (stage monitor focused version) and I was impressed by the smooth sound out of them. Great for the price!

Re: Slate VMS-2 mic instead of two or more others?
Short answer, yes. These mics can be used for a variety of different things and indeed the modelling can achieve very similar results to the original mics. If course, whether you believe that is entirely up to you. I've got a ML1 original band I've found the modelled models to be incredibly useful ...

Re: Hilarious Dan Worrall review of AI channel strip
AI can only recreate something that's gone before. It can give you options that you may not have thought of perhaps, but it's all based on what it's trained on. There are some studio junior/trainee tasks that can be off loaded onto AI, but I've not heard an "AI mix" that doesn't sound bland and ...

Re: Turbosound speakers active or passive
I've heard a couple of speakers from the Turbosound collection, and of course...there's Turbosound and there's Turbosound. They do lower cost stuff, and they do slightly more expensive stuff. I'd place them on a par with RCF at the current time. At the level of market there is a massive crowd of ...

Re: KV2 AUDIO EX10 Intermittent fault
Sounds like a component failure or bad connection inside or bad solder. If you're familiar with micro electronics repair it's time to get the multi-meter out and check each path. Something like this I'd give KV2 a call and see what they say, but you're probably looking at sending it to a repairer to ...

Re: Two good products which would you choose
I've never really got on with KV2 Audio speakers, so if you're matching the D&B with a D12, I'd probably go for that. That said, what are you buying it for and what is your budget? There are probably better/wider options we can suggest if you give us more info. I'd say that 2 very specific sets of ...

Re: Help find source of distortion
I've got 5 TS310 that I use as monitor speakers, and I've used a TS410. I'll be honest, unless you're in a biiigggg room I can't see you needing the 12 or 15. The bottom end out of the 10s is insane. I've not used the 08s so can't comment, Have you got access to a mixer? Try plugging in the keyboard ...

Re: Ok so I'm bit embarrassed about this but....
Yes, and theres also that other, often forgotten thing, the EQ knob! That always makes the purists go mad "oh no you can’t use that" :D I know the ML-1 and other modellers seem to get a bit of push back, but like I said, it's a great mic even without the preset modelled EQ curves applied

Re: Ok so I'm bit embarrassed about this but....
I'm going to throw into the mix the Slate ML-1. Modelling mic, although I think it sounds pretty good by itself without the modelling software. I've used it on several different voice types and I've always found it to deliver a great result, and the modelling helps shape the sound in anyway you want ...

Re: Lithium AA’s in radio mics - any thoughts?
No. That's the simple answer, but it's a bit more complicated. In reality you can use rechargeables, but don't skimp on them if you want any kind of life out of them. I've used the specific shure rechargeable packs on a 2 week run musical theatre show, and to be honest it was more hassle making sure ...

Re: Do you jump in?
Context is everything. 1) You're the house engineer and the touring guy doesn't have a clue and it sounds terrible: If the system isn't in danger, then you leave him. It's not your job to make them sound good. 2) You're a punter at a big gig and the sound is bad, and the crew look relaxed and don't ...

It's hard not to disagree with Hugh, because he talks a lot of sense. It's going to be break even if that, and it's a lot of work. Re: Advice please - new MacBook pro, M4 or M4pro chip
I splashed out and got an M3max last year. Don't regret it, as a year on and this thing still eats up everything I throw at it. As usual with these things, I usually encourage people to get the most powerful you can afford as it will usually last that bit longer. But the afford thing is key, and I ...
