Re: New 'sequencer' day: Stochastic Inspiration Generator (and Clouds update)

First jam w the SIG! Two sine waves straight into the Quad VCA, Pico Drums LinnDrum kick, Clouds for reverb. https://audio.com/don-music/audio/sig-jam-1 Once I had a loop that I liked, I just switched between Loop and Stochastic modes. The fact that you can switch between modes and that the stochast...

New 'sequencer' day: Stochastic Inspiration Generator (and Clouds update)

It took a few months of waiting, but I was able to get my hands on a SIG+ from Stochastic Instruments. I put together a 104hp skiff as a stand alone stochastic composition instrument/laboratory. Unfortunately, it's been a super busy work week and I've only had about an hour to play on the thing, but...

Re: Back to Berlin School -- again!

Testing out a new chord progression today, Cm - Fm - Gm - C. It's the first motive in a larger sequence but wanted to hear the first four chords. This is kinda clocks within clocks as far as the tempo is concerned, but the steady C bass note on the Mother -32 is 8th notes if you find that helpful. :...

Re: Back to Berlin School -- again!

Had a very fun afternoon yesterday messing about with oscillator sync. Pretty unwieldy but creates some very interesting results! https://photos.app.goo.gl/T3dK2epN5iVq9JxT8 I also discovered that if you pair mmMIDI with Pam's, they run in concert without any adjustment as Pam's is designed to take ...

Re: Back to Berlin School -- again!

That sounds like a fun exercise, and I like the way that the sounds change as the piece progresses. It would make a very good base on which to hang other things. I found myself imaging all sort of overdubs as I listened  Thx! The chord progression is solid, imo; but I don't want to explore...

Re: Back to Berlin School -- again!

Well the test/proof of concept went much smoother than I could have hoped! Here's the finished product; nothing great, but it gets the idea across that the method will work in the studio. The chord progression is the only keeper, I came up with it the other day so it was easy to just use that for to...

Re: Back to Berlin School -- again!

Watching the latest Alex Ball video on the YMO Music Composer inspired me to pull out the MC-500 and, once again, see if I could make it work with the rest of my gear in a way that wouldn't drive me crazy. :D After a bumpy takeoff, I think I've come to respect, and almost enjoy, working with the MC-...
