Me no Google, I prefer DuckDuckGo which doesn't track you :)

Re: CD burning

Hi Barward, if this is something you will need to do frequently you could probably pickup an old W7 laptop for next to nothing, does not have to be 'Deep Thought'. I have an HP g6 i3 that burns CD and DVD very well. I use Nero but there are plenty of freebies about (VLC?) . You would of course need...

Re: CD burning

Thanks. I have borrowed my friend's CD/DVD/Bluray burner, and the same thing is happening, with a disc from a different batch and with even an ancient CD-RW. Which suggests to me that it's something awry with the Mac's CD burning abilities, but I am no expert. It's actually quite hard to find softwa...

CD burning

Very last century I know, but when burning a music CD in Music, the process hangs at the "...finishing" stage. Has CD burning (I'm trying to do it from a playlist in Apple Music, although problems remain even when trying to burn in the finder) been hobbled? I know that the whole optical me...

Re: Racking options

It's just that I've always found rack nuts very tedious to insert, even though I know they're simple things. These new-fangled bolts do smack a little of snake oil, so I will go and try again with my old-fangled ones....

Racking options

I thought I'd drag myself and my small rack into the 21 century, and have been looking at rack studs as an alternative to bolts and cage nuts. Would people recommend them? They seem very popular and a great alternative to the nasty bolts/nuts.

I see there is also a rival product called clik-nuts.

Re: Building Tesla's 6 speaker sound

Best of luck with this project. It (and Dolby Atmos) reminds me of a modern version of Isao Tomita's 'Pyramid Sound', for which technology hadn't quite caught up with him for 1979's 'Bermuda Triangle' album: "This album is different from my others in that the master was recorded onto five track...

Re: 'Set and forget' reverb padal

At school (quite a while ago!) the music tech teacher let me loose on a Teac 3340 (or was it a B77?) as he could tell I was very into sound and synths and so on. So there I was with a cheap mic and a reel to reel, and all I really got out of it was eventually working out how to do tape echo, as I wa...
