Re: Offsite Data Backup
Microsoft Office 365 is capped at 1 terabyte Not quite- I get 1TB of OneDrive through my 365 subscription, and I pay for an extra 1TB (from memory it’s about £5 a month). I’m not certain if the ‘extra’ is unlimited, or capped at 1TB. I also to pay extra for some more OneDrive storage; my recollec ...

Re: Offsite Data Backup
My idrive deal is 5TB backup plus 5TB cloud storage for €10 annually. Plus I can back up more than one computer which Backblaze does not allow. YMMV. Dang, that is a sweet deal. I'm in a position recently to review my storage strategy. I've got a fair amount more stuff than 5 TB, but I have a f ...

Re: Side Quest: Chiptune University!
The complexity of the tracker has always been very daunting to me so I've been using NerdSeq pretty much as a standard step sequencer. Going through these tutorials has definitely opened my mind to the complexity of the tracker! Just learning about instruments and how you save parameter changes as ...

Re: No peaking in CPU/Memory usage still I get dropouts in DAW
... Let me emphasize again: the audio recording at low buffer works. After doing certain steps (some you have just mentioned above), especially switching to background service prioritizing, setting min processor performance to 100% and switching off Wifi solves the problem. It is just too annoying ...

Re: Stopping buying stuff
All those things could have happened, or could yet, but we've chosen to support an economic and political system that prioritises short termism and quarterly profits over people long term benefits. We do get what we deserve. I didn't make that choice, the people I elected have corruptedly warped ...

I use OneDrive and Dropbox
That amount of storage would cost some $$, I'm not sure you can buy that much at either of those sites.
Maybe Google Drive, or others.
I've also used AOMEI in the past to store data offsite.

Re: Paul White, I like to compliment you 👍
I'll pile on here ... one of my first exposures to music beyond my acoustic piano and CD/vinyl album/FM radio players was a very small white soft cover booklet called, "Effects" (or something like that), by a Mr. Paul White, the effect of which was eye-opening in a "We're not in Kansas anymore" sort ...

I'd think a decently played keyboard version, along with a commercial sample or two of in the desired style would work fine.

Re: Is there PC computer hardware that doesn't play well with Cubase?
Hi Alexis. I would definitely want to know which motherboard was going in my machine, but largely to be sure what features/connectivity it has. Eg I wanted a PCIe slot in the last one I had built (by Scan), or the number of built in USB ports of certain types, or how expandable it is in terms of ...

Can be in a few instances on AMD, but Intel is generally fine. Older interfaces can sometimes be fussy with newer USB variants, but if you've something from the last 10 years it's likely all fine. Thanks, Pete! Going with Intel, almost certainly. My interface is highly beloved, but old, with USB 2 ...

Anyone remember the Archie's? They had a number one hit ("Sugar, Sugar"), but they were just cartoon people, made up to make money. Re: Is there PC computer hardware that doesn't play well with Cubase?
Some of the DAW packages still haven't received optimization for the latest Intel P/E chip design, but Steinberg on the other hand has been putting the legwork in and tweaking away for it. I'd advise being on C14 for the best experience, but they did a lot of work on it during the C13 life cycle as ...

Re: No peaking in CPU/Memory usage still I get dropouts in DAW
I thought one had to run it for hours to be sure, 10 min is much nicer. One question I've always had - in situations like this does one run LatencyMon with the DAW on or off? Pretty much everything is going to fire in that time period that may be to blame, so it should be long enough. 20 mins ...

Is there PC computer hardware that doesn't play well with Cubase?
Hi - I've learned a lot about computers over the past 20 years or so as a Cubase user (I started in the days when "IRQ interrupts" were something I had to read and learn about), but as time has gone on, and things have gotten a little more transparent for the user like me, I've become pretty much ...

Re: No peaking in CPU/Memory usage still I get dropouts in DAW
bencuri,
Apologies if I missed it, but could you list your computer specs (they may help explain some of your problems)?
Also, if you had a chance to run latencymon (can download for free at that resplendence site I linked to a few posts up), that might help also.
