Re: Mic repairs in the UK?

I've heard from Studiocare and they charge £90 + VAT per hour. If the job takes over an hour the price would be virtually the same as a brand new mic that has 3 years warranty!

Re: Mic repairs in the UK?

Thanks for the replies guys. I have already tried Xaudia and they only specialise in ribbon mic repairs.
I’ll try Studiocare and see what they say.

Any more suggestions?

Mic repairs in the UK?

Can anyone recommend where I can get a microphone repaired in the UK?

Re: 2 of my mics are picking up hum but none of the others do?

I’ve heard from Stewart at Xaudia and he specialises in ribbon mics and doesn’t repair condenser mics.
Think I will post another thread specifically for mic repairs in the UK.

Re: 2 of my mics are picking up hum but none of the others do?

I managed to get hold of a brand new Blue Baby Bottle SL microphone and this mic works perfectly without any of the hum issues. I'm really pleased that I have a working Blue Baby Bottle as I think this mic is excellent value and sounds really good without the fizzy exaggerated high frequencies. I n...

Re: New RCF 702as MK3 and HD10a or FBT Promaxx 110a and Sublime 112sa?

Thought I’d post an update. I got to hear and use an RCF HD10mkV/702asII system at the weekend and have to say I was very surprised with this tiny pa. Firstly I wasn’t expecting the 702 subs to be so small! They are so small and light to carry! Also, I was surprised and the output of this tiny syste...

Re: 2 of my mics are picking up hum but none of the others do?

Thanks guys. I don't have a dimmer or fluorescent lighting but I've heard that there was a QC issue that affected some of Blues mics. I'm going to try another Baby Bottle SL because I do find the high output and low self noise useful. I also really like the sound of this mic as it sounds really bala...

Re: 2 of my mics are picking up hum but none of the others do?

I have tried unscrewing the base cap of my Blue Baby Bottle SL and can't fully open the mic up because of the hpf and pad switches. I have noticed that the humming noise disappeared but the mic developed a high pitch whining noise. When I screwed the base cap back on the humming has returned but the...

Re: Which computer monitor? What do specs mean?

Quick follow up to my original post. I went with the Dell S3422dw and am extremely happy with this monitor. The picture quality is fantastic and a noticeable step up from my old AOC monitors. Also, the size is perfect for my new studio desk.

Re: Best position for desk and monitors in L shaped room

I've been doing a little more experimenting in my room as the Eve TS108 has separate filters for the satellites and the sub itself. I'm finding I'm getting more even low mids if the Eve sends a full range signal to the KH120's and then set the subs separate filter to 80hz. This means the KH120's are...

Re: The best home studio monitors

In the sub £400 range I really like the Kali LP6 v2 and JBL 306p mk2.
I also have some Presonus Eris monitors which I use at a college and personally prefer the Kali and JBL for mixing.

Re: Best position for desk and monitors in L shaped room

Hi Matt, The door is closed in the picture and it opens into the room which would make it even smaller.

Re: Best position for desk and monitors in L shaped room

https://i.postimg.cc/tJH1X1gm/IMG-4818.jpg This is an update of my room so far. I have the Eve sub under my desk at the moment as it's the most practical place for me to put it. I've been listening to lots of reference material and mixes I've done and I'm noticing a dip in the low mids when using t...

Re: Cubase 13 scrolling glitchy with new Dell S3422DW monitor?

I have spoken to Dell and they have resolved the brightness issue I had with the monitor. Turns out that the Dell Display Manager software can't control the brightness and you need to use the monitors hardware buttons for this feature!!?? Seems really odd to me but anyhow this part is working fine n...

Re: Cubase 13 scrolling glitchy with new Dell S3422DW monitor?

Quick update. I've just tried using a Display Port cable and I can run Cubase at a resolution of 3440x1440 and 2560x1080 with a 60Hz refresh rate without any glitchy scrolling. However, when using the 3440x1440 in Cubase tracks that have a lot of waveform detail flicker. This happens regardless of w...

Re: Cubase 13 scrolling glitchy with new Dell S3422DW monitor?

Thanks again for all the suggestions. Yes I am running the latest version .30 of Cubase. To be honest though, I never had a problem with the previous Cubase 13 versions.

I will try the display port option next
