Re: Klark Teknik KT-2a making crackly noise after not being used for a few months?

Thanks for the suggestion. I upgraded the valves in the KT-2a to Harma Retro tubes from Watford Valves. They are only around 18months old hand have had light use. I still have the original Bugera tubes so I’ll be able to swap the tubes out to see if that’s the problem.

Klark Teknik KT-2a making crackly noise after not being used for a few months?

Hi, I've got a Klark Teknik KT-2a compressor which I really like. However, it has started to make a lot of crackly noise after not being used over the past few months? Here is an audio clip of the noise I mention :- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WRhF5gfm6iatqJiUeEALQMdOf0Rlwy0l/view?usp=sharing I...

Re: Neumann Kh 310 hiss both high freq cone?

I have my KH120’s on the -94dB setting aswell. I am sitting about 1-1.5m away and to be perfectly honest they can go way louder than is sensible at this distance/setting.

Re: Neumann Kh 310 hiss both high freq cone?

I have the KH120's and these don't have any hiss unless you put your ear up to the tweeters. I believe the KH310's have even less self noise.

Re: Neumann KH150 and KH120II

Thomann recently had the KH150's up on their site with a pre-order price for £1399 each which is quite a difference from the KH120's at £525 each. It's also pretty close to the KH310 price. I'm really interested to see what Neumann has planned for the KH120 mk2. Also, Focal announced a new ST6 range...

Re: Neumann KH150 and KH120II

I see a set of open-backed headphones are also in the pipeline... Yep. Will be interested to check those out as well! Really love the KH120’s and would ideally have liked the KH310’s but simply can’t afford those. The KH150’s “could” potentially be ideal as I would expect those to have a little mor...

Re: Neumann KH150 and KH120II

I’ve had the KH120’s ever since they first hit the stores in the UK. I’ve been using them for well over 10 years and love them. I added an Eve TS108 sub to these which is a surprisingly good little sub but I haven’t been able to perfectly integrate with the KH120’s. Whilst it’s not too bad, I don’t ...

Re: Battery Powered PA Speakers?

Where are you based? Yorkville make two battery powered speakers :- https://yorkville.com/loudspeakers/excursion/product/exm-mobile-8/ http://yorkville.com/loudspeakers/excursion/product/exm-mobile-12/ Both have a noticeably higher output and are reported to be a step up from the Bose S1. They also ...

Re: Thoughts on PMC Result 6 compared to Neumann KH120’s?

Yeah I’m wondering if Neumann are planning to either update their KH120 or KH310 with added dsp. Also wondering if they are planning on bringing anything new to the market.

Re: Upgrading Klark Teknik Gear

I have a KT-2a and 76-KT. I did change the optocell for the Kenetek T4b and Harma Retro valves. I found the Kenetek optocell did smooth out the compression a little and the overall sound is a little ‘thicker’ for want of a better word. Also, I noticed there is a small but noticeable reduction in noi...

Re: EV RE3 Microphone Opinions

I have the RE3-ND76 set and like it. I used to have a Sennheiser XSW65 which was ok but the signal range wasn’t great. I had a few drop outs when using 3+ wireless systems. There were a few artefacts to the sound as well which the wired e865 doesn’t have. The RE3 has much better signal range and I h...
