Re: Studio monitors makes weird buzz soun
aux jack directly to the PC (not through audio driver.) Ok, that possibly suggests it’s not your PC or DAW. Try the phones through the Scarlett. Try different speakers with the Scarlett. Yes then, IF you get the buzz on the headphones pull the speaker plugs out of the back of the 2i2. If that stops...

Following the review in the latest issue I was moved to order the 'Infinite Sample Sustainer' for my son who is rehearsing with a band who does "Queenlike" music (but not a covers band) he is therefore trying to emulate some of the guitar style and sounds of Mr May. No one seems to have st...

Re: Shocks from mic
"The lack of a good connection to earth somewhere in the system would have amounted to a system in which one further fault could make the system potentially lethal?" Definitely Ian. Our safe electrical system relies on layers of protection each one of which is a very unlikely failure scena...

Re: Jacks
The 'socket' that takes an RJ45 Ethernet plug is call a "jack" in the network industry. As said, our US biddies refer to RCA phono connectors as jacks and I don't think they differentiate between plug and socket. "Jack" is one of those words with many meanings. Car jack, jack ham...

Re: Studio monitors makes weird buzz sound
It might be that your buffer rate is set too low. If all you're doing is listening back to music and not recording then you can crank it right up. Pretty much my first call as well. Might be good to play a CD and see how that goes? After that, look at Task Manager and see if CPU hit is high, I woul...

Re: Longest safest cable for condenser
The equation remains the same friend. Nothing in that microphone's specification suggests it is anything but a conventional circuit and so should be capable of driving at least 100mtrs of cable as I said.

Re: Longest safest cable for condenser
Keep posting Dave!  I value your contributions and your knowledge - even if we disagree about printed manuals! For the record, I have very little difficulty with your vernacular style, but maybe best to dial it back a bit for the wider - and younger - audience. ;) But please d...

Re: Longest safest cable for condenser
Dave, why can’t you just use proper names for things like other people? The O/P is in the Philippines, but even people in Peterborough would struggle with some of your nicknames. +1 here I'm afraid Dave! I'm sorry to say but I don't know what you're referring to half the time... and some of your 's...

Re: Longest safest cable for condenser
Not to a non-native English speaker it won't be. Fine in a thread a regular started in say the DIY section, but it does help if you try and stick to the actual words where the O/P is obviously new to the subject. Ok but OP has been with us a year and has 70 posts under his belt. I also did not get ...

Re: Longest safest cable for condenser
Really? Would have thought it was pretty obvious seeing as I had used the full word earlier and was in context?

Trying to bling things up a bit but YCPAOTPAOTT.

Seconded! :D But Neutrik’s own budget brand, Rean, are always worth looking at. Also seconded. Well! Sorry cha...
