Re: Alchemy synth in Logic?
In order to make use of Alchemy, you first need to ensure that you have gone into the Logic Pro X tab in the top left and downloaded the additional content labelled 'Alchemy Sound Libraries'." With any luck they should also include the 300 presets I originally created ;) Martin Yes it does as well ...

Re: New SP1200 from Dave Rossum
For the benefit of those that don't understand the legacy this machine has, it was THE machine for hiphop production in the late 80's and has always been in demand.. I was never much of a fan of the machine myself, but it's "crunchy and punchy" sound was a hit with a great many producers and artists ...

Re: Out of Waldorf
My love affair with Waldorf is almost as old as my love affair with Emu... I have owned several Microwave I's, A Waveslave, Microwave II, Microwave XT plus a Q and Micro Q... Needless to say, I'm a fan of their lovely, grungy, Germanic sound and currently love my Iridium... Curious to see what they ...

Re: Logic Pro X USB midi question.
are you connecting USB directly to each instrument?.. If so then each instrument should be recognised as it's own device in Audio MIDI Setup. Check here as this is where Logic derives it's instrument definitions.. The MIDI channel only becomes relevant if the instrument is set to an individual ...

Re: Does this exist?
There are a number of really good little hardware samplers, but very little in terms of keyboard based models... Building into a keyboard increases the costs enormously so almost no-one is doing it any more.. there are various keys that will play user Wavs but not much if anything on the editing ...

Re: Peter Zinovieff on the Syntrx.
It does look like a fabulous little box... I must say though I was quite put off by the apparent internal calibration.. Tim Shoebridge does a good demonstration of how easily the filter is overdriven and thus completely changes in character.. I don't mind having the ability to over drive a filter ...

Re: Semi-modular monosynth
A friend of mine had the MiniBrute 2S for a while. It was ridiculous fun and sounds wonderful. It's also built like a handsome tank. I'd have one myself if I didn't have a MatrixBrute and may get one yet anyway ;) Ditto what Eddy said... I have the Minibrute 2S... it is great.. I wouldn't touch ...

I always adored the orange livery - and with both filters on the Behringer... Best of all worlds! :bouncy: The filters are only half the story of the 2600... sadly Behringer neglected the other half and so it doesn't sound anything like a 2600... it sounds "nice" but it's just NOT a 2600... at all ...

Re: How long to design a synth?
I have been lucky enough to work with a British synth designer and manufacturer and been privileged to see a synth from early scribblings/concepts.. On average I would say about 2 years, but this will obviously vary hugely dependant on things like how new the circuit design is, casing and metalwork ...

Re: Why does Liam Gallagher's vocals sound shit?
I'll place a small bet that he did the vocal at home himself, with the first mic he could grab - and I'm willing to also bet that the engineer would have suffered a tirade of abuse had he suggested it needed re-doing... Yup.. Almost certainly the case... Liam was and almost certainly still is a ...
