Re: Is my PC Dead? No BIOS Screen
Thanks Merlyn, Just o clarify, I have a total of 24GB as 6 x 4GB sticks. One of the sticks AND one of slots on the mobo are faulty, slot 3. I have put in 5 of the sticks into slots 1,2,4,5 & 6. So now the system can see 20GB. I have issues starting the machine up. It seems to stuggle a few time...

Re: Is my PC Dead? No BIOS Screen
I cannot remember which exactly, but I seem to remember back in the day, there were 2 types of memory that were physically the same size and you could slot in a stick of RAM that was incorrect for the motherboard. Each of the 2 sticks of RAM had a different number of pins but at a casual glance, the...

Re: Digital Mixer that runs plugins?
It is something I would like to do - create music without a DAW, each upgrade of my current DAW seems to increase latency, the DAW lifetime went from V1 to the current V12 and certainly up to about v8, functionality, speed, ease of use etc, improved with each new version, then it started to get 'ove...

Yep me too, from hither and thither and all over - I'm a Reeeeeal No Where Man, Sittin' In a NoWhere Land....... I can't remember the rest o...

Re: what cheap, not-toy keyboard for a beginner?
\ Seeing as the OP is talking in $$$, would he have a SCOPE shop or Cash Generator shop around, although I guess they have more than an adequate supply of Ca$h for Crap shops in the USA, especially in those parts where everyone lives in a caravan? You'd be surprised. There are local shops here and ...

Where am I?
Sorry, not a music question but didn't know where else to ask the question. When I sign in to eBay, I get an email saying "A new device has signed into your account" and that email also identifies my location - ok no big deal, we know we are being watched all the time. But about a few week...

Re: Getting off the Upgrade Mill
An Akai MPC X but with HDMI graphics output to computer monitor, and with disk streaming so it is realistic to record audio, really good Cubase'esque MIDI editing, VST Host to run a few really good SoftSynths, ability to use USB Keyboard/Mouse/Music Keyboard and that'd be me, kissing goodbye to comp...

Re: Getting off the Upgrade Mill
.........Real instruments are where I’m struggling most. I’m keen on the new oberheim but don’t really need it......... I am holding onto hardware, even though most of it sits in a corner collecting dust. But I am amazed at how much money some things are now worth that I wonder how long will it be ...

Re: Getting off the Upgrade Mill
It’s not until you buy something, sometimes, that you realise, you really don’t need it. LOL - Spot on, back of the net, you got it in one. I suppose, logically thinking. If upgrades had a profound impact on our creativity, then in going from version 1 to version 12 (and beyond) of whatever, would ...
