Re: Do Headphones wear out?!?

but being closed back and mainly used when tracking, they have got pretty sweaty and damp when in use. Yep, that's certainly an issue Chez Bunk. And I probably have given them a good "thrapping" over time as they are also used for pleasure when the neighbours are in and I need to "un...

I just have to look at a cable and it tangles.

Yep, I have that problem but it gets even worse when I'm not looking.

Harmonies in Christmas Carols...aaargh!!

Being stuck at home a lot lately (cautiously hibernating as opposed to isolating) and of course there's a lot of Xmas music on the radio stations now, especially Classic FM. I might be being an old fart here but the increasingly "imaginative" multi-part harmonies on the last verse for caro...

Do Headphones wear out?!?

I've been using a pair of trusted AKG K271s for probably around 10 years now, mostly for monitoring but some mixing as well; I've lately redecorated my studio and have since removed all acoustic treatment so these are now my only references for my productions. Just lately I've noticed that I'm just ...

Re: Do you have favorite songs for teaching theory?

Isn't Gary Moore's "Parisienne Walkways" basically a cycle of 4's? Give or take the odd embellishment of some chords, it's Am, Dm, Dm/G, C (maj 7th), F, Bm(that would strictly be a Bb), E, Am.
It's lovely on a piano, so it doesn't have to be all about the guitar solos!!

Re: Chris Rea.

Chris is a true talent, and as said genuinely a lovely bloke. He was on Mortimer and Whitehouse's Christmas episode talking about his ailments and illnesses. Irrepressible I think is the word. Hewesy Yep, I saw that and thought he looked really ill, poor man. Love a lot of his stuff, Stainsby Girls...

Re: Quality desk chair for studio 2021?

Re: Why is this website called Sound on Sound?

For what it's worth there's also a decent Football Magazine called "Four Four Two"; I can't see it changing its name to "Three Five One One."

Re: Best tool to collaborate remotely?

I did a couple of collaborations with a drummer mate during the first lockdown (one is on the forum album) and we used a shared dropbox folder. As he is not good with the tech I set up a Reaper project with two tracks, a guide track and a blank drum track, so he just had to load the project, hit re...

Re: Musicians and weight lifting

A decent alternative to weights is (are) resistance bands. I'm using them on my legs at the moment due to medical conditions which have an implication on my bones and they do the trick nicely, both for upper and lower body exercises.
