Nor me. And writing more popular music doesn't solve this. The platform is set up for big labels not their artists and not for small, independent artists/bands. Difficult to get new, unique listeners when your music doesn't get exposed to them via the algorithm.

twotoedsloth wrote: ↑Thu Sep 11, 2025 2:14 pm Hello All, and thanks for your advice and direction.
However, this was a bit of a time waster, as the tape was using Super Long Play, with nothing (black screen) but 4.5 hours of audio (I think the maximum time length is 6 hours)
Sincere apologies,
Peter
Were the HiFi tracks used instead?

Re: Spotify payouts
Years of cheap and accessible digital distribution has encouraged anyone and their mom to try and monetise their music. While Spotify's change of rules regarding payouts is another blow to smaller, already struggling artists, the bottom line is that people want to get paid for content nobody really ...

Re: Possible 3rd party drives for M-Audio ProFire 2026 to Mac silicon
I'm making this post for a friend. He wanted to upgrade to a new Mac, but his old M-Audio 2626 Interface does not have drivers for the new silicon macs. Are there any groups out there making 3rd party interface drivers? I'm guessing he is going to have to bite the bullet and just upgrade to a new ...

Re: Spotify payouts
I have only had a payment from Spotify for the months of April and May this year (nothing for June), despite having all my songs over the 1000 plays-per-year threshold for most of the year. Doesn't it also have to do with number of unique listeners? Starting in April 2024, tracks must have reached ...

Re: Rick Beato v Universal Music Group
Whenever I've put up music under copyright on there they have checked to see whether the copyright owner has allowed the music to be used and, if so, the revenue generated by the video will go to the copyright owner. The other tutorials that Drew linked to further up this thread all used re ...

Re: Rick Beato v Universal Music Group
It's nice (IMO) to see them going after a big fish. Usually (again, IMO) it's the little guy who gets hammered, while those with power walk away unbothered. Does Beato have power in this scenario? I wonder how Justin Hawkins manages this. Not sure his channel is still going... I think RB only ...

... There are full rips of albums on Youtube uploaded by users who don't have the right to. There are also countless tutorials (instrument, mixing, mastering, general music pods etc) that also play other artists' music as part of their content. I would wager most do not comply. ... Re: Are you going to AES SHOW 2025 ?
I remember going to the 2011 convention in Hammersmith. Met the late Dave Hill from Crane Song and attended an interesting talk by Ted Kendall and Gordon Reid on the panel. Won't be attending this year because of logistics but wouldn't have a problem with travelling to the US.

Re: Logic MIDI Issue
Nice you found what the problem was. FWIW, I had a JU-06A and had regular MIDI issues with it. One of the reasons I ended up selling it on. Great little powerful synth though.

Thanks OneWorld. One thing has always puzzled me, and that is a fundamental question I think we all think about sometimes. Are we any good! Can be good at making music but not as good at selling it, getting the exposure etc. 2 different ball games and the latter is harder for common man than the ...

we’ve come a long way since the 91 came out. Pedals these days are incredible, I have a UAD Golden, which is superb, something that really does sound like a classic Lexicon, without all the unreliability of my old 224, I loved that thing, but reliability was terrible. The sound of the 91 is miles a ...
