Thanks Desmond. I thought that was the case. Not a massive problem for me to be honest as I tend to use the performance mode to split and layer for live performance, I tend to record parts individually so I can use the patch effects fully.

Playing with the performance mode settings on my XP-30 earlier, it seems that the only part that drums can exist on is part 10, even if I don't use general MIDI (which I don't - I avoid it like the plague). The reverse of this is also true in that part 10 cannot be used ...

The Roland Octa Capture should have a ground lift switch on the rear (the Quad Capture certainly does). I had this problem on a previous machine and flipping the switch did the job. Not wishing to state the obvious, but have you tried doing that?

Does anyone know if there's a "replacement" OLED display I can put in my aged W-30?

The backlight in it is dead and these displays look lovely.

Just heard back from the venue on this (having contacted the in house sound engineer) and the cause of the issues we had were down to the vocalist not having enough of himself in the monitors and subsequently cupping his mic and holding it too close to his mouth to try and make himself sound louder ...

The DX 100 is midi capable. Check if it's set to Local off like James suggests above. Also, see if it will drive another piece of MIDI gear or if it responds to external MIDI...

Try Red5 Audio for mics. they tend to come in a case with a shockmount.
