Re: Plectrum choices

I fell that where pick are concerned some serious investment is justified. Thusly, I treat myself to genuine Jim Dunlop Max Grip .60mm picks, £14.76 for a pack of 24.

Because I’m worth it.

Have you tried hanging by your ankles?

Re: Is guitar tablature...

I feel I’m in a pretty good position to answer this question because for years I played the guitar “upside down”, i.e. a right-handed guitar played in a left-handed stance. A couple of years ago I decided to go straight and play conventional left-handed. When I was playing “upside down” I could cons...

Re: Looking for Insurance recommendations.

The MU used to deal with Victor C Knight in London but moved to Alliance (I think) some time ago. Worth checking both for quotes subject to the following: The PL cover (*£5M) is available with membership as well as *cover for equipment which can form the basis of a voluntary excess you can take to a...

Re: Church A&H SQ6 to CQ18T

Once a useable setting has been established it should be possible to create a workflow and “appearance” on the sq6 that only presents the essential elements of the day’s project to the user, which can be easily saved for future events. Another tool which is very useful is the Mixing Station app whic...

So yes, get juiced up if you can. Don't forget an RCB on the feed. Dave. POI: RCD, unless there’s a hidden cricket connection I haven’t spotted. RCB = Residual Current Breaker. Just one of the terms used for the same protective device. Just as valid as RCD (Residual Current Device) and RCCB (Residu...

Also, a simple mains supply checker should be one of the first tools in the bag, not expensive but has certainly saved many lives.

Re: Total Newbie. Please help!

IMHO, you don't need a capacitor mic for banjo, at least not on live shows, an SM57 for the banjo should be fine… Agree strongly, in fact in a nursing home I suspect a ‘57 on an easily adjustable stand might even cover fiddle et al as well if the speaker is far enough away. Piezo pickups on a fiddl...

Arsectomy, I thought. I do a very similar thing with a wireless number pad triggering actions/macros in Reaper: Record Stop - keep Stop - discard Go to (specified) marker Toggle repeat Switch on kettle (requested feature) Good luck with the project, Bob. Re: SM57 For Studio Vocals

Find a nice space with an ambient sound that will incorporate well into the recording or a dead space that will give you a clean sound - then sing at a slightly greater distance.

It will be natural and un-hyped but should be even and pleasant - assuming your voice is even and pleasant.

It's the same thing. No need to get another DAW involved.

True, but other folks may have the same question and this may be the appropriate answer. That was a bit of a word-fart without context or much consideration on my part.
