Re: 2 button mouse
I have the Logitech MX Ergo which is a trackball mouse with multiple buttons and a scroll wheel with an additional button press. With an ultra wide monitor I can spin the ball at high speed and zip from one side of the screen to the other. It has a button for ultra fine movement too. I use it ...

Re: Viewing monitors connected to a Mac Studio before purchace.
I’ve got an LG ultra wide curved monitor it’s 49 inch and 4K. I had it prior to getting the Mac Studio and on Windows it did cause problems with Ableton - confirmed by them on an email. I haven’t had any issues on Mac. I have my screen set up with A77Xs at the side and in front of the screen so it is ...

Re: Selling an iMac
Thanks for your reply. What you say makes a lot of sense. I had toyed with the idea of using it as an additional monitor but I think I need a £70 dongle for that. It sounds like it is probably just worth keeping hold of then. Thanks again.

Selling an iMac
I have a 2019 iMac that I bought new but after about 12 months my daughter needed it for her work. I've just got it back and it essentially looks like new, no faults. It is a 3.6 GHz i9 (5.0 GHz turbo), 32 GB 2666 MHz DDR4, 3.7 GHz Radeon Pro 580X with 8 GB GDDR5 memory and one of the faster (but I ...

Mac Studio M2 Ultra overheating
Bought a new Mac Studio M2 Ultra with 64Gb ram and a 4Tb drive late last September. I also purchased AppleCare+. It was left in sleep load with no software load about a month ago but when I went into the studio the screen was showing the desktop (the Mac had woken itself) and the Mac was going ...

Re: MIDI Sequential MAX issue
Just returned a Pro 3 because the Arp wasn’t playing reliably. Three older Sequential synths work fine using the same MIDI cables. Sequential were claiming it was a MIDI loop but pointing out the OB-6, Prophet 08 and Rev-2 worked as expected and asking what settings the Pro 3 needed to fix the p ...

Re: Mac OS management and recovery
Thanks FA, I’ll give Synthax a ring tomorrow. There is clearly something going on software-wise. I am still under Apple tech support but past experiences of their first line support is variable to fruitless🤣. Synthax are the polar opposite. It’s very hard to know who to approach for software issues o ...

Re: Mac OS management and recovery
Don’t know yet. It’s only just finished the migration and if I try it and it doesn’t work then I’ll be up all night
Looking into things it would appear I probably should have cloned the stable setup. To the ‘morrow.

Re: Mac OS management and recovery
Narrowing down the issue is really that I need a simple system from converting a backup back into a fixed OS.

Mac OS management and recovery
Purchased a new Mac Studio last September and allocated my G Raid 2 to automatic daily Time Machine backups. A number of weeks ago I noticed playback of ripped commercial music was disrupted if I was using Safari - particularly when scrolling. Yesterday I noticed my OB-6 inputs on my Fireface 802 on ...

Mac newbie in trub.
I've buggered something up and don't know how to fix it. Mac Studio M2 Ultra running Fireface 802 for several weeks on Ventura 13.5.2 but I recently installed the latest Logic update. However everything was working fine. Yesterday I got around to installing a few missing plugs among which were ...

Re: Synth repair in U.K
I'm northwest England - well not me personally  but you know what I mean. I've tried everyone local to me and they seem to have gone out of business unfortunately. I just used Gareth Magennis of Sound Service in Leeds. Bit of a trek but needs must. Nice chap, very modest pricing, my MKS-70 is ...

Re: Smartwater Security for gear.
For the sake of balance, I have emailed Smartwater twice and they haven't bothered replying. If you are likely to have any queries I would suggest telephoning them prior to purchase.

Re: Smartwater Security for gear.
Yes, I resorted to dabbing Smartwater through the tremolo cover on my Strat. I will email Smartwater and ask - possible solution might be to put the mark inside the XLR socket.

Re: Hunting a specific sound
Don't know if you have sorted this but if you try the three week trial of Synplant 2 then its AI engine can recreate sound samples and synthesised sounds. It's very clever how it works. https://www.youtube.com/embed/rN7B8LUY3WU?si=ZkwJNEhSliKqElGT&autoplay=1&start=1242&enablejsapi=1&rel=0&origin ...

Smartwater Security for gear.
I only know a few here personally but for those who haven't met me I was medically retired from the police a number of years back following an assault on duty. During my stint on the job I spent some time working as a custody sergeant, which was where I first became aware of arrests for possession ...

Re: Apple Music-Grrr!
Thanks on the advice for the fix. I agree Apple should give a warning/explanation - even more ridiculous is their tech support must know the reason for the issue so spending two hours on the phone is ludicrous. I appreciate the staff probably don't want the aggro but sometimes it is better to say ...

Apple Music-Grrr!
SoS peeps be kind to me I have been on the phone to Apple Support for two hours and been told to by advanced tech support to”play around and get back to them if I cannot fix it.” I have had my new Mac Studio M2 Ultra for three days and have had fun and games importing my 315Gb audio collection into A ...

Re: GS Music E7. A synth from Argentina.
Yes I think it has something that is missing from Sequentials. I emailed the chap who makes them. He responded promptly and said the colour I wanted was on its way to Juno but when I contacted them they knew nothing about it and wouldn’t let me reserve one.

Re: Modular case earthing issues.
I had a similar issue with multiple Rackbrute cases. I felt quite demoralised after speaking to Graham Hinton as the fix seemed to a hard pill to swallow. I sold the Rackbrutes and bought a Doepfer monster case which is great but I am reaching the point where I will need a second. Glad there is a ...
