Re: Measure of a Good Tune
Context is everything. What you're doing at the time you hear something. Who's there. What's just happened and/or been said. A song that to this day will instantly bring me to tears is "Bright Eyes" (from Watership Down). The reason being that it was on the radio at the moment I was told my Nan had ...

Re: Plagiarism
Beethoven - remember that guy - always borrowing Bach stuff - and German folk tunes - eclectic Ludwig - we love em -- and Ed Sheeran apparently.
I think Ludwig must have had a time machine and went forward and nicked a bit of Thelonious Monk - opus 111

Re: Mixes: art or product
Product is art - they are not indifferent.
When it comes to 'mixes' - there is craft. Some skilled - some not so.
I'm hearing excellent pop production --- just a sweet sweet fantasy baby - Pops not dead yet.

Christian Henson madness
Christian is a 'head the ball' i love it. Lyndhurst Hall is a truly lovely space for recording hall - strings float . I'm thinking what Hansa Tonstudio and Tony Visconti did creating an plugin enviroment where you can move the mics around - it was called T-verb. Lyndhurst Hall i think should try ...

If i'm talking on a balcony and club is close by - on an omni - i will hear the bass from that club - get an omni.
If you need evidence -- 0k i know - the others are correct - your going to need an officer of the law - or move.
but with a good vid - and an omni - you might impress

Re: Do I need 32GB?
Of course - Virtual RAM -- whizzing disks - How could i forget? Thanks MOF.
In the past we would say that you can never have to much RAM. However, considering how fast I've heard SSD virtual RAM is - i think i'd keep the 400 bills.

Re: Your opinion on this mix?!
What OneWord wrote . Cool vocal - cryin out foe some punch The vocal needs to be 'closer' clearer if you will - the voc effect is not helping i think - id try an ambient reverb on the vocal and bring the level up front - compress sensitively - be brave. Clarity is the word. Dont forget the bass - we ...

Re: The popularity of distressing, disintegrating sound.
Artists are a reflection of time - even if they do not intend to be.
We are part of 'now' . Now is flux - it is reflected.
We might have said -- break it down -- rip it up --
Reality is rough - Francis Bacon paintings are priceless now -- Truth is ugly too
