Re: A fun mic comparison
Version B has more sizzle on the high frequencies, A and C are darker, A seems to cut through the mix more than C which sounds a bit more veiled in the highs compared to A. I couldn’t really hear much of lower freqs in the vocal due to the backing. Not having heard the vocalists voice in real life m ...

Re: Hearing loss in music production
It's still not working for me, Submit button does not change,
does it matter how you type answers; Capital letters/lower case/numerical?
I tried YES yes and Yes for the last question but no change.

Re: Hearing loss in music production
I tried filling in the Project 1693 form but the Submit button is grey, is this possibly a browser issue? (I'm using safari 17.6, it's set to prevent cross site tracking)

Re: What’s to love between 500Hz-1.5kHz?
2p worth:
For me that's the band in which a choir can have a nice reverberant shimmer to it and also where most of the 'warmer' vowel sounds (non screechy) reside.

Re: A bad Apple
That's a relief
I've had issues with charging but mostly usb-c ports when they get fluff in them.
My sister is still using my old iPad from 2016; I guess apple thinks that they don't need a 'battery health' indicator unlike iPhones.

That could be useful, looks like balanced connectors but is the signal balanced? Not enough info on the webpage.

Re: Charging an iPad from Phantom Power
Well I'm not an electronics expert but the phantom power supply usually powers audio devices that require up to 8 mA at 48 Volts, that's less than a watt of power and an iPad expects to see at least 5 watts so you would be better off using a charger or power bank.

Re: Charging an iPad from Phantom Power
Short answer - no, you wouldn't have enough current after you'd converted down to 5V

Re: MacBook mid 2015 is £500 a good price?
Not sure but I got one half a year ago that was early 2015 but lower spec (13 inch, 8GB ram, i5) for £300 on ebay
Edited to add: The battery cycle count was nearly 1000 and there were a few small dents - maybe the shop will let you check the battery health?

Re: Cubase 12 is out
Thanks for the info, you don't know if the Cubase one handles pitchblend do you? I don't understand why Melodyne doesn't support this where they obviously have the pitch data right there to see! I have no idea what pitchblend is! It’s an ore of uranium 😶 Struggling to find it in this video https://m ...

Re: Advertising window keeps appearing at bottom of browser
Thanks for reassurance
I had been looking up info on ‘Adchoices’ and the advice was along the line of ‘You must have installed software that it piggybacked on’ but there didn’t appear to be anything unusual in the Library folders.

Advertising window keeps appearing at bottom of browser
This has just started today, when I go on the website an advert slides up from the bottom with an arrow at the top of the left side (I am using Safari with Catalina). Every time I go to a new page on SOS or change the pop up blocker setting on or off, it reappears. This is happening whether I am ...

I am using a 2015 MacBookpro (not owned from new) with Monterey but have only used it for browsing/YouTube and editing photos and am trying to avoid over stressing the battery as it's up to 1000 cycles. It seems to be behaving itself since the 12.2.1 update (the fan rarely spins up, just gets warm ...

Are your headphones the ones with a gold screw-on jack connector? If so it's just possible it has become unscrewed enough to affect the contacts and needs tightening up again.

Re: Advertising again.
Just had a pop up advert in the middle of the screen twice today using safari when I went on to
Had a look at the company being advertised - seems legit but it’s annoying having to close it.
I decided to sneak onto the website via a different browser and didn’t get it that way
