online collaboration

Hi all, I just tried listening to a friend's session in Logic (I use Reaper) with a zoom meeting - but the audio quality was too poor to enable me to comment on the mix (we manged to get it in stereo at least). Is there a zoom alternative where you can listen to someone's mix in decent (mp3 320 or b...

Why have SOS taken away all the dates for online articles?

Hi,

Until recently, if I searched a review or article on SOS there would be a date at the top so you could see if it was recent or from 8 years ago - which is helpful to know.

Why's it gone now? All article are timeless!

Thanks
Gav

Yamaha CP88 warranty (or any yamaha digital piano)

Hi, I bought a brand new yamaha CP88 stage piano (boxed, unopened) from a UK eBay store (but to my knowledge, not an approved yamaha dealer). Will I still have the normal warranty? Re: Behringer C2 pair as ambient mics for lead singer IEM mix?

Thanks Alec,

I do have an SE2200A and a rode K2 but they're too fancy to risk bringing along haha so I'd rather spend £35 on these behringers I think.

Cheers

Behringer C2 pair as ambient mics for lead singer IEM mix?

Hi, Just started gigging again with a female vocalist friend and she hated feeling isolated from reality with her IEM's (which we need as we play to click / backing) at our first gig - so I started looking for the cheapest half decent option to get some of the air and audience sound in her head and ...

Re: PRS vs PPL vs Soundreef etc - confused

Hi again, Just wanted to ask - my friend and I agreed a 70:30 split for any money earned from our song. But as PRS is for the songwriter, she'll get 100% of that. PPL is for performers / recording / production which was all me bar the main vocal which was my friend. So how does one create a 70:30 sp...

Re: PRS vs PPL vs Soundreef etc - confused

Thanks again Phil So we'll both join PPL as she does sing on the track. And we'll both join PRS - this song she is 100% the songwriter but we have since done other songs, co-written together. Final (I hope!) question - so are there two separate revenue streams? - one from PRS for songwriters and one...

Re: Setting up new Focal Shape 65's advice please

Thanks Wonks The foam isn't as deep as it looks - the front is like a thick wedge to hold speakes but the foam under the speakers is actually only 2-3cm. Hugh - Bob said 1m listening distance is the 'optimal' distance, not minimal - hence I'd presumed 1m between speakers as equilateral triangle etc....

Setting up new Focal Shape 65's advice please

Re: i7 8550u overheating with plugins

Thanks - that's good to know : ) I've unticked 'allow live fx processing' in the buffering section of Reaper's preferences and that seems to have helped - temp now dropped to mid 60's.
