I assume you have only used the midi within SD?
You would need to drag that midi info to the S1 track allocated to SD. Once done you can convert to audio file (track) or mix down as per normal.

PCIe to PCI Expansion Bay
I imagine that quite a few users must have come across this situation before, maybe some sooner than others? I am thinking of extending the useful life of my old RME 9632 & UAD-1 cards by using a new MB and latest uP with a PCI expansion bay. Has anyone done this (or something similar) :?: For ...

Re: Opinions on the new Fantom?
Judging only from what I've seen online...simply love it  I have a Fantom X and was rather disappointed by the follow ups of the past few years... this looks to right those wrongs... Without doubt the sequencer is a strong feature, and even the V3 OS update from Yamaha for the Montage doesn ...

Reason: My Top 5 DAW Features & Functions
I did a top 5 for Cubase, and now I why I use Reason... 1.Combinators Simply the most powerful synth creation tool built-in into a DAW... except possibly MAX for Ableton Live. Cubase: My Top 5 DAW Features & Functions

Re: Analogue obsession
In some respects it's scratching an itch, a lot of players probably lusted after the DC2 back in the day but either couldn't afford or couldn't find one. Hewesy Completely agree if your market is ..well...old people  But I'm imagining that they are hoping to sell units to the younger ...

Re: Analogue obsession
They are trying to show people that the circuit is basically the same one that went into the Dimension C unit, and not a digital emulation of one. I have the Boss DC3 Digital Dimension pedal, which is a digital emulation of the Dimension D effect (and a nice sounding chorus it is too), but it's ...

Re: Analogue obsession
Yes, it is a discrete-time sampling-based system, but sampling is always an analogue modulation process . The signals being passed down the BBD chain are always analogue voltages, too: at no point are they quantised, or digitised, so it is not 'digital' in any way. The author is quite correct in ...

Analogue obsession
I could not help but wonder about the continuous fascination with things described as being "analogue" - albeit real or imagined ... From a recent review of the Boss DC-2W Using all‑analogue audio circuitry, and based around charge‑coupled delay‑line chips, the DC‑2W shares some of the basic concept ...

Re: Best bass plugins/VSTs
Something a little less conventional to try, seeing that you're a Cubase user, is Voxengo CurveEQ.

Re: The case for objective compressor tests
And that's why I believe technical gear discussion should be more than it presently is. From a recent SOS review "but although their first compressor is based on a variable-mu tube circuit as used in the Fairchild 660 and 670, it’s not an emulation of those venerable units. Rather, TuCo shares some o ...

Re: The case for objective compressor tests
Personally, I think life is too short to worry about this too much. Once you get to a certain level of competence all compressors do what they are supposed to well, and you simply choose one over another because you like what it does and it allows you get what you want quickly and easily. Same with ...

Re: The case for objective compressor tests
My first foray using only the Waves CA76 (stereo). This is really is just a jumping off point. The sound source in all cases was a sample clip containing a few drum hits - basically something that contained a decent amount of frequency spectra. Measurement is being done in Steinberg Wavelab using ...

Re: The case for objective compressor tests
Measuring the frequency response doesn't tell you much if you don't also measure the distortion — ie you must ask yourself whether a bump in the midrange is due to simple gain (like EQ) or to harmonic distortion of lower-frequency elements. In my 1st attempts I'll consider the FFT of the freq. ...

Re: Gibson really struggling financially.
Craftsmanship went from expected as a matter of course to something requiring a premium cost. Hmmm, not sure about this. To get a guitar that played well and was well-made you had no choice but to spend £2,000 in the 60s, 70s even 80s. Those of us that remember 'budget' guitars as they used to be ...
