Re: Realistic Guitar VSTs for keyboard DAW play

I'd like one that does the opposite, as I'm fine on Guitar controller (Fishman Triple Play, GK-5, etc) but rubbish at keyboards.

Some of the Session Guitarist/Bassist for Kontakt are pretty good.
There's everything for various acoustics to 8 string Heavy Metal sylee stuff.

Re: Slate VSX Headphone Studio Simulators

Thanks Dave

Definitely worth considering then.

I've had my old Alesis M1 Active Mk2s for years, but new neighbors, thin walls require headphones.

Re: Slate VSX Headphone Studio Simulators

Are these for mixing only ?

I take it there is latency preventing vst usage etc ?

Re: Brain exploding: Ethernet connection for AudioGridder

That was the best explanation of networking I've ever read. I hope you don't mind, but I've saved that, to save me much brain ache in the future. So far, anything I've done with networks have just worked (routers, switches, multiple computers, smart devices, using a second router as an add on, etc ...

Re: Boss VG-800

Is there any point in keeping my newish GP-10 and GK3 ?

I have a GM800 and GK5, along with the converter box (which i may keep, in case i ever buy a used SY1000....again !)

That would go towards the VG800 and a GK5B

Re: Logic Pro 11 Announced

On mac studio I already have the last v10.

Do I uninstall that and then install v11, or should I install over the top

What about loops, instruments etc uninstall, or install over them ?

Re: Hold Off on Mac Sonoma 14.4 Update

As a very new mac person of two days, I was holding off installing the mac versions of my audio programs until I felt I'd got to grips with the OS. Turned out just as well, as my Studio Max has Sonoma 14.4 on it. My programs and vsts on my Windows 10 setup use an ILok for quite a lot of stuff ...

Re: Mac Newbie

One more question, if I may...

Would this external drive cut it for libraries like Hollywood Pop Brass, Komplete, etc ?

Portable SSD T7 Shield USB 3.2 Gen 2 4TB

Sorry, I couldn't find a direct link, it was just samsung.co.uk

Re: Mac Newbie

So AU is still the preferred plug in for Logic (when I get it) ?

Does anyone here run Studio One ?

Obviously, there are still problems with some NI stuff ( my S49mk3, for one), so I'll be sitting that out until they're sorted.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Mac Newbie

I've been having a read of the stickies and some threads here, as I'm going to invest in a Mac Studio Max with 1tb and 64gb ram. I still use a PC with Studio One 6.5, Komplete CE 14, some Toontrack, and Cubase 12. So while having some DAW skill etc, am now confusing myself regarding plug ins on the ...

Re: Power Plans - not available

Not just Acer. I installed Windows 10 on a Lenovo laptop that previously had had all three power plans showing, only to find just the "Balanced" there. I decided to create my own power plan, but when saving I could see both the "HighPower" and "Battery" plans. However, they're still not showing in ...

Re: Recommend Backup program

Thanks everyone.
Some things to try there.

I agree about Acronis.
It was a great program, but they just wouldn't leave it alone.
It has worse with every version, bringing more bugs.

I don't know why MS don't just include a imaging tool in Windows, a la Time Machine for Macs ?

Recommend Backup program

Hi All Having recently got my system in order again for the umpteenth time. This time I'm satisfied, so now want to back it up. I have been using an older version of Acronis 2020, but i think I'd like to try another disk imaging backup program too. Belts and braces etc. ;) Rather than the cloud, I ...

Thought so
For some reason, I thought as it (the axe) wasn't being synced, but used more or less as a guitar pedal, I might have got away with it.

Re: Need more outs. New interface or ADAT expansion?

So how does it work if your best latency with your interface is at 96k (Presonus Quantum2626), but your input processor (Axe FX 3 mk2) only runs at 48k ?

Sorry for the de-rail, but I've been running everything at 48k for the sake of the axe and I'd really like to know, as I am confused
