Re: How do I record my Guitar using Load Box (Boss Waza tae) and IR

Just had a quick google of your audio interface - it looks very fancy - what input settings are you using on this?

I'm wondering if the signal is clipping on the way in.

Have you tried using the USB output on the Boss? Does it sound any different?

Re: How do I record my Guitar using Load Box (Boss Waza tae) and IR

Welcome to the forum :D I can understand your frustration because on paper you should be able to record a decent guitar sound. It's really hard to describe sound - is there any chance you can upload an audio clip of the recorded guitar (google drive / soundcloud etc) and then post a link to it here....

Re: Computer Noise Through Speakers

Some confusion here which probably needs clarifying for others reading the thread. A DI box has a specific purpose which is to covert an unbalanced line-level signal (several hundred millivolts) to a balanced mic level signal (single digit or tens of millivolts). It may or may not have an isolating...

Re: Computer Noise Through Speakers

An isolating transformer would be recommended, like this : http://orchid-electronics.co.uk/dual_isolator.htm I'd highly recommend Orchid - very high quality for low prices - I needed XLR's on my box so got the ART but this should help with the TS - TRS troubles. And cheaper than the ART box too :-)

Re: Computer Noise Through Speakers

I'm not totally sure that a DI box would colour the sound too much but especially if you go for some of the higher end units - the RA100 manual does specifically mention the possibility of a coloured sound though so I can see why you might be concerned. The fancy DI's might cost just as much as a ne...

Re: Write protect an audio track

Do you ever get the clicks on a track you haven't edited? If not then I'm wondering if it's the edits causing the clicks. Do you routinely apply crossfades over your audio edits? If you don't this might be the cause of the problems.

Apologies if I am telling you stuff you already know.

Re: Mic Angle

You could of course write a song called “This Is The Soundcheck”, where you give yourself another 3-4minutes for the FOH person to get the sound more balanced and you introduce your Spanish singer, Juan Toux. Whilst not explicitly called 'This is the Soundcheck' when faced with a line check and on,...

Re: Is 'outrush' current a thing?

I would also check your actual mains voltage Drew. Might be at top tolerance of 253 V or even higher! Then, circuit breakers have a 'life span' and can get 'oversensitive' with age and usage (unlike me who's skin gets ever thicker!) Dave. Although this may not be the issue in this case - I've falle...

Re: Sit stand desk - monitors on floor stands, or on [stands on] the desk?

I'm not a studio professional so this might be off the mark, my suggestion would be to use whatever position sounds works best for the speakers to be the speakers listening position and then have the other one as a headphone listening position. From my limited experience there are times when you nee...

Re: Recording Straight to DAW

I'm also in the camp of what ever gets the job done and sounds best to you. But the way that you have described using volume and tone automation before the amp has intrigued me a little. Are you using the volume and tone controls of the guitar as part of the performance that you are recording? I've ...

Re: The least musical but most impressive synth demo I've seen in a while

Just need one fitted in all the new electric cars so that you can hear them coming - once they are self driving, it will give people something to do when they are on a journey :D
