Guitar vst amps plugin recording techniques
Hi everyone, this post is a bit guitar specific, but it's about recording technique as well so I decided to post here, hoping I'm not wrong… I’m very curious to hear how users of Neural DSP Plini and Soldano SLO-110 plugins (but all vst guitar amp in general) manage them… In particular I would be cur ...

Re: Launchkey MKIII 61 weird behaviour in Cubase 12PRO
Maybe I’ve found out a workaround for my problem… :crossed_fingers: When the color problem occurs I open the Midi Remote Manager in the lower window and in the ‘scripts’ tab I disable then re-enable the MK3 script: magically colors reappear in accordance with project tracks! It worked even with the p ...

Re: Docking station part one: MacBook and MacMini
"Only" - that's quite a lot of connectivity there! Hi muzines, could you explain better? I'm a sort of dinosaur when it comes to technology... I'm coming to MBpro from a late 2012 MacMini that's obsolete, according to Apple, but I still use... Never used USB-C ports until these recent days (for ...

Docking station part one: MacBook and MacMini
Hi everyone, Having recently purchased a refurbished 2021 MB pro M1 max, that has only three USB C ports and a HDMI one, and still using an old MacMini, that has mainly USB A ports, I’m considering to buy a dock station where I could connect both MM and MB so to share printer, external hard disk, ...

Launchkey MKIII 61 weird behaviour in Cubase 12PRO
Hi everyone, hope this is the right place to post... I’m encountering a weird behaviour with my new Launchkey MKIII 61 and Cubase 12 pro on a 2021 MacBook Pro M1 max, OS Ventura… My first experiments were ok and as I’d plugged LK I was ready to work but yesterday I launched a first project and every ...

Re: Samsung EVO ssd 500GB weird behavior
Hi again, I just 'healed' the disk using Mac Mini Utility Disk and finally MacBook 'sees' it with no issues; sos disk was ok both on MM and MB. Having no Windows computers and no wish to go back, as long as I can, I opted for OS Journaled that I generally use (apart from Mojave and Ventura disk) so ...

Re: Samsung EVO ssd 500GB weird behavior
You're right, it's possible to change format. Now I was trying one more First Aid (sos disk) on MacBook but it's going from half an hour and I suppose something is really wrong; I'll probably stop it and try reformatting.
I'll let you know
Better ex-fat than journaled?

Re: Samsung EVO ssd 500GB weird behavior
In the information from the Mac Mini it says : Scrivable No. Writable No. That doesn't seem good, but it wouldn't seem to be true if you did manage to write to it. If I remember correctly 'First Aid' is a part of Disk Utility. You could try that, and if it throws an error, reformat it. Hi merlyn, I ...

Re: Samsung EVO ssd 500GB weird behavior
Ah, right the connector in the drive is a one off AFAIK, I did have one but all my current USB drives and caddies have one or another flavour of 'normal' USB connectors. If the MBP won't complete a format then there is some incompatibility, the next thing I'd try would be a different format, maybe ...

Re: Samsung EVO ssd 500GB weird behavior
Hi Sam, my MacBook is new, compared to MacMini but it's a refurbished one (2021); these are main specs: Chip Chip Apple M1 Max CPU 10‑core con 8 performance core e 2 efficiency core GPU 32‑core Neural Engine 16‑core 400 GBps di banda di memoria Memoria 32GB ram I tried with a USB C3 > USB C adapter t ...

Re: Samsung EVO ssd 500GB weird behavior
Hi Sam, I've just tried to reformat (APFS) the disk on MacBook but Disk Utility ran for a while without an end so I had to force exit; I therefore tried again to format it on MacMini (APFS) and everything was ok: disk is active and I see it in finder sidebar and on the desktop. As the disk is a USB ...

Re: Tascam 488 Portastudio
Hi James, ajay_m andTim, sorry for my delay in answering but I probably missed the answer notification... I still have to try to play some tape and I'll do it with a 'sacrification' one, for sure, as you Tim suggest but I don't think I'll dare to open the machine by myself! I'm really not good in ...

Samsung EVO ssd 500GB weird behavior
Hi everybody, I’m finding a weird behavior from a Samsung EVO ssd 500GB I formatted on my Mac Mini to use with my new MacBook Pro: I formatted it in APFS thinking it would be better for OS Ventura but it’s not seen in MacBook finder, even if I can see it in Disk Utility, and it turns out to be not ac ...

Re: Headphones and/or correction software
Thank you all again for answers, I know that phones and correction software are a wide subject even if I mainly see people happy with Sonarworks (not only) and the same with Slate VSX. It would be a good thing having the opportunity to try both of them (I'm having a test with SoundID Sonarworks for ...

Re: Tascam 488 Portastudio
HI MOF, hi James, thank you both for answering! When were the belts last changed? I never changed them, for the truth... I bought my Tascam used maybe thirty (...) years ago and it always ran well for my needs at the moment, then I put it in his box, probably fifteen-twenty years ago, and I ...

Re: Headphones and/or correction software
Hi again, thank you all very much for answering so quickly! I know that open back are better for mixing but I was (also) considering closed back ones because my room is not always so silent and I'm afraid that external noises could come in and disturb more easily. For using Sonarworks, anyway, I ...

Headphones and/or correction software
Hi everybody, after years when I mainly composed and recorded my music, I'm starting to go into more detail about mixing. I have a couple of Adam A5-X monitors that I think are good for my room, not very large, but the room itself is not threated so I'm considering to purchase a decent pair of ...
