Re: Noise cancelling headphones... but!
My Sony whxxxwhatever-4 noise cancelling earbuds do an amazing job and sound great. However if the noise she wants to cancel is of a sudden nature (like a rapper singing), noise cancelling processing may not be quick enough to catch it. You’ll have to go to good (and expensive) ones, which are more ...

Re: ADAM A7V vs. FOCAL SHAPE 65
it does for me. I'm not relying solely on Sound ID of course. My room is treated. But the software helps.
there's a trial period so you can try and decide yourself.

A7v user here. all I can say is that they are ok. There is nothing I miss. And as Sonarworks user it's pretty neat to have the profile in built in the speakers

Re: Proposed Garage or Hobby Studio Layout - Comments
That roomle thing is cool!
Instead of the 2 small cloulds I’d say one bigger one right next ver the listening position - mirror point.

Dachman Audio microphones
The algorithms keep bombing me with advertisements of this brand.
https://www.dachmanaudio.com
anyone has any experience with them? If I have to trust their customers' reviews, they're the best mics ever

Re: USA Strat neck advice sought.
It’s repairable. Take it to the luthier and let him/her do his thing.
I assume you like the guitar and are happy with the neck. Get the truss rod repaired/replaced. It’s not the easiest repair, but any average luthier can do it.

Re: Pub Band - what's changed since 2020
I don't think people complained about stage level when Hendrix toured small UK venues in the 60's with a 100W MArshall  But that's because at the Hendrix gigs people were there specifically to see him (or at least one of the other bands on the bill) play live. The typical pub covers band are o...

Re: Pub Band - what's changed since 2020
Most importantly, I bet only one of them was killing the stage level and ripping the faces off the punters. 1st of all, I'm free of guilt as I always bring an attenuator to gigs. BUT stage level, and level in general  , has always been part of live music experience. From the moment you have a ...

Re: Pub Band - what's changed since 2020
that's what I do too. I gig with a Quad Cortex AND my amp. signal spplited in the device before the amp block and sent out to the amp. amp block is a capture of the very amp I play, and I use it via an XLR out to feed a little mixer where I do my own mix with my guitar, my vocals (also coming from t...

That may also be because you’re comparing fried eggs with boiled eggs: they’re not the same meal despite both being eggs
Your amp sounds like an amp. Your modeler sound like a mic’d amp through monitors.

Re: Pub Band - what's changed since 2020
That subject is like everything: there are good modelers and bad ones, and fellows who know how to use and fellows who don’t. Rival Sons guitar player has done their last tour with a Helix and a Seymour Duncan power stage (plus dozens of midi controlled pedals), and he sounded as good as the other 2...

Re: Pub Band - what's changed since 2020
I'd say if you guys already have the gear keep with it. if you have to invest go for the wireless, in ear, tablet based, digital amp, etc.
apart of the benefits of reducing the overall weight of what you're carrying, once you get used to it it makes the job easier.

Re: Cubase Controller
Or you could destroy your credit card like I did last year and end up with the Yamaha dm3s as your audio interface, mixer and control surface all in one compact unit. Re: Cubase Controller
If more faders are your thing then there's also the S1, and I do keep toying with the idea of adding one to my setup, but the Dock is a powerful bit of kit even on its own. I must add that having 2 S1's made me get rid of the S1 (but still using the wonderful Avid control iOs app). as for knobs, th...

given Cubase integration with Eucon, you will not find a controller that can do more things and more customizable than Avid Dock.

Re: U2:UV January article
That’s what I would have thought. But I read the following: “That’s probably what I would feel personally was my greatest achievement from a sound design point of view,” O’Herlihy says. “The way the system was configured all the way around in that oval shape, I went left and right stereo image all t...
