All signals in such an Ethernet cable are differential (balanced if you like) and are supposed to be transformer isolated at each end. All this means that it would be very surpri...

Re: Nile Rodgers Guitar Auction

The Juno 60 estimate seems reasonably priced for a good condition synth with added starshine but who knows the final price if two wall street dudes get into a "must have it " bidding war. recently : Einstein's papers, estimate 3 million, realised 12 million. What I love about this stuff is...

Re: Still limited to one audio driver

some old kit used to put the crystal on top of the PCB voltage regulator so that it would run hot and be more stable !

I heard the Moog Source runs hot {overall} so that the analogue oscillators stay better tuned [ citation needed]

Re: Are the older hardware synths becoming the new investment?

Vintage synths have been collectors' investments for years. You don't have to spend much time on Vemia to be plunged into that world. The Syrinx went for £13K yesterday. :gob smacked: Syrinx - the one with the repair_your_own_car_bodywork type pitchbender ! It has never looked classy but probably a...

Re: You are not authorised to read this forum

the op included a link to youtu.be rather than their intended target of Goldfrapp's "Eat Yourself".
Also "youtu.be" looked like phising to me, which I now know isn't.
Overall, not exactly a nuclear event.

Re: Are the older hardware synths becoming the new investment?

pots & switches are available for the micron, so the interface should be repairable if it deteriorates. Not sure about the insides though as each voice has custom chips. You have praised the micron before and I was a bit shocked  given your love of physical controls and the micon's lack...
