Re: Church PA Operation
Churches these days can be an odd place to practice good sound. On the one hand, some have (almost) industry standard equipment and on the other hand, the operators are often untrained or reluctant volunteers some of which do think that they know what they are doing. They can be the hardest... I ...

Re: Church PA Operation
Just a brief post to say a big "thank you" to everyone who took the time to contribute. I have noted down many of your suggestions because they are so helpful. I suspect that there is a lot of experience out there about installing and operating PAs in churches but it does not seem that it has been ...

Church PA Operation
I have a lifetime of experience in the broadcasting and audio field and have a question related to the non-professional PA environment: operating a church PA system in a traditional church setting with people who do not understand audio, do not know how to use microphones and so on. So often, such ...

No, I have no such access.

Re: Poorly Edited (Produced) Single
It's more of a needle in a haystack than I think that it should be; I have combed charts from the period and absolutely nothing comes to mind. It would seem to have been popular from the number of times it was played and I am convinced that it was the late Seventies from the context of how I ...

Re: Poorly Edited (Produced) Single
No - that's the one that keeps coming up again and again. But that does not have the erroneous middle section which I remember. It's a long shot and I know that my question is asking a lot; I just hoped that with the readership aware of such things I would not have been the only one out there who ...

Poorly Edited (Produced) Single
I hope that this question is OK on this forum: Back in the late Seventies, I remember a single coming out in the UK which my memory tells me was a "carribbean"-style single. It was often heard for a period while it was presumably in the charts. I cannot remember anything else about it. I'd like to ...

Re: VUMT Deluxe Plug-In & Logic Pro X
...I think that your reply has pointed me in the right direction - I have found that I can get it going by inserting it in the "Stereo Out" fader - and it works!!!

Re: VUMT Deluxe Plug-In & Logic Pro X
It's a VU Meter app which also has a plug-in component which is (was) installed along with the app. The plug-in component is where it should be. I understand what you are saying about enabling the plug-in but whereas on each channel I can access the existing effects and apply them I have no idea ...

VUMT Deluxe Plug-In & Logic Pro X
This is probably complete ignorance on my behalf - I am fairy new to Logic Pro X and certainly this is the first plug-in that I have bought, but having taken Ian Shepherd's advice in his excellent Mastering YouTube series to buy it I can't get it to work. The plug-in is in the right place in the Mac ...

Re: "Empty" Bounce File - Logic Pro X
Thank you, Desmond, That seems to be the problem sorted. It was the fact that I was once again having a bounce issue with the latest version and I was getting desperate. Changing the output setting has sorted the problem - and I'm sure that you are right - the other files were OK, just no audio ...

Re: "Empty" Bounce File - Logic Pro X
Update - I seem to have just managed it - I found that I could hear NOTHING from any file played and when I looked the Mac was attempting to play the sound through something called "Soundflower." I have Googled this and am none the wiser. However, selecting the output to headphones produces audio ...

Re: "Empty" Bounce File - Logic Pro X
Hi Desmond, Thank you for taking the time to reply. I tried a realtime bounce for the first time on this project and - yes - exactly the same. Since I have had exactly the same problem with two different versions of Logic on four different computers now I am sure that it is me. It is utterly ...

"Empty" Bounce File - Logic Pro X
I have been playing with my newly-acquired Logic Pro X 10.5. Previously I have been using Logic Studio X on a couple of elderly MacPros for a couple of years. The "X" is installed on a 2012 iMac running OS X 10.14 (Mojave). I have reasonably extensive experience of both Macs and Final Cut Pro. The ...
