Re: Electronic cornet (or trumpet) for someone with low lung capacity?

Just taking a quick look online - The Morrison digital trumpet has adjustable breath sensitivity. It's only a midi controller though, so he'll need some kind of hardware or plugin to provide the sound. http://www.digitaltrumpet.com.au Some (if not all) of the Roland Aerophone models have an adjustab...

Re: How to record a heartbeat?

If you want a "whooshy" sound as well, try using a fetal doppler - they're not too expensive, and some have options to record - and you may know parents who own one.

Re: How to record a heartbeat?

I would just use an electronic stethoscope - all the ones I know of can record audio. They can be pricey, so see if you can find someone who works in medicine who has one you can borrow. (I'm more interested in this "whooshy" sound you mention - is this something you hear in your head, acc...

Re: Graphic eq pedals, bass or guitar

The Orange Two Stroke does two bands of parametric-but-without-Q for about half the cost of the Tech 21. But then it has half as many controls, so I guess that's fair. And also, Tech 21 products are made in the US whereas the Two Stroke is made in China - I'm not saying that one is inherently bette...

Re: Korg 700s FS.

Martyn Ware, on numerous occasions, has mentioned the Korg 700s as one of his all time favorite synths. Daniel Miller remains a big fan of the 700s.

Re: Korg MS-20 is/was a "Limited Series". REALLY?

I don’t know how many of the MS-20 FS Korg intends to build, but every retailer online has them in stock so they’re probably not exactly rare. If there’s a possibility that you might have to sell it, buy one used to minimize any possible loss - in the US, I see a demo unit for $300 less than a new o...

Re: New Blackstar heads and combo

That's quite the feature set - reactive load, mic'd cab models via direct out, and a 50 W 1x12" tube combo that only weighs 24 lbs. These are the kind of things tube amps are going to need to survive with the likes of Kemper and Quad Cortex. The font and the illumination of the logo reminds me ...

Re: Guitar chord recognition software

Fender Riffstation Pro for Mac and PC - it was $35, but Fender discontinued it in 2018 and made it free at the end. The official site for it is no longer up, but various sites have it available for download - just find a reputable one. https://www.techradar.com/news/fenders-riffstation-pro-is-now-fr...

Re: M1 - Music Software

I can’t see the M2 being more powerful than the M1 Pro/Max chips. You may well be right about the ports though. That’s if the M2 actually even exists!!! The M2 is reported to be more powerful than the M1, but not as powerful as the M1 Pro and Max. The M2 is expected to debut in the second half of t...

Re: The tone wood myth?

Play a Gibson Les Paul next to a semi-hollow ES-335 - same pickups, scale length, bridge - and you can easily hear a very different sound.
