Re: Looking for a decent pedal power supply
GigRig Generator is unbeatable in my opinion. Had one for about 10 years now. Modular so it can grow and shrink as required. Brilliant investment.

TLM 102 or OC18
I’m fancying a new mic to add to my collection. I’ve kinda narrowed it down to the Neumann TLM102 and the Austrian Audio OC18. Anyone own both? Anyone with either what’s your real world Pros and Cons? Cheers.

Re: M1 iMac Music Production
I’ve been using the mac mini M1 for two months now for music production and it’s been really good. I’d come from a 2012 MBP so it was quite a nice step up in performance. I’m using Harrison Mixbus as a DAW so can’t speak on PT or Luna, but i havnt had any issues with plugins. Go for it.

Re: 'Set and forget' reverb padal
Trex room mate may be worth a shout. It’s lived on my board with the knobs in the same position for about two years now. That’s about as good as set and forget gets. Setting number 4 with a touch of chorus is my favourite. Can be had for under £150 second hand.

Re: My first preamp - Golden Age? UAD plugins? Others?
The warm audio wa12 is a really good choice for an outboard preamp for not a lot of money. It was mine as it happens. I was really impressed with everything i put through it. Seems to give some sources a real sharpness.

Re: How to get this guitar sound??
Those lipstick pickups on the Danelectro have a very distinct tone. That’s probably a big part of it. It does sound like there’s a lot of compression going on, probably from a guitar pedal.

Re: British pedals?
Hudson Electronics make some amazing pedals especially The Broadcast.
Stonedeaf are another, from Manchester i’m a big fan of theirs.
I’ve also had a few Thorpy pedals and they are fantastic aswell.
Black cat effects make a tremendous Treble booster amp top box and other boutique fuzz pedals.

Re: Good mic for vocals and drum OH?
Long time lurker here also.
I’d suggest an Aston Spirit. I’ve used one for both Male vocals and mono drums and it’s very good in both situations.
