Re: Report your known delays

ASM Hydrasynth Explorer - late Jan 2022 - sad trombone Dreadbox Nymphes - December?? Behringer RD-9 - lol. lol. I'm going to mark this now: Roland JD-08 and JX-08 scheduled for late Jan. Everything I've pre-ordered is scheduled for "late January" which is apparently the maker's way of mar...

Re: The least musical but most impressive synth demo I've seen in a while

Don't forget the first example, the Toyota 2000GT from the 60s (and that Bond movie). They worked on the engine and the dash inlays were from the piano division

Re: Arturia Minilab mkII to control Waldorf Blofeld

MIDI-OX is also my suggestion if you have a Windows PC. That should help translate or get a readout of which parameters need to be routed to which CC. My experience with the Minilab is that what you'd expect it to output based on how it reacts in the Analog Lab software doesn't match normal MIDI CC ...

Re: Are the older hardware synths becoming the new investment?

I've always been a sucker for those devices that others reject out of hand - some of the humblest and cheapest keyboards I own are amongst my very favourites. I'll mention: Teisco S100P Korg R3 Alesis Micron Future 'classics', currently slipping under the radar, I predict will include: DreadBox Typ...

Re: Arturia Minilab mkII to control Waldorf Blofeld

I have a Minilab collecting dust for this reason actually. Pretty sure mine is a mkI, but I found that it doesn't like to work with anything that isn't part of the Arturia suite and while you can force it to, you're very much stuck doing all of the setup work for anything you want to use it with. I ...

Re: Thoughts on the Behringer Neutron.

I thought the same thing and bought one but wound up sending it back. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as useful as I thought it would be, and I didn't like the patch bay or the delay. I did just order the Dysphonia for the same reasons... I like the layout. It's a kit, though. https://www.dreadbox-fx....

Re: New SP1200 from Dave Rossum

Thanks, I figured it was something like that. I'm not saying it's a bad business decision. I just don't understand the desire to own stuff like this. Or paying tens of thousands for Jupiter 8's. There is so much great new stuff. I mean, the same could be said about Stratocasters. OH heaven forfend ...

Re: New SP1200 from Dave Rossum

My view is that there's a certain combination of sound, interface and hardware/software design that does things right to some people and they never forget it. It's why there are endless clones of the 808 and 303 programming methods, and why the Polyend Tracker exists. Never used an SP-1200 but I do ...

Report your known delays

Hey all, rather than talk about it across multiple threads I thought it might be a good idea to correlate our respective shipping delays given how backed up the system is. From what I understand right now, definitely subject to change as is anything posted here: dreadbox nymphes: maybe january due t...

Re: MIDI keyboard/controller - purchase mission impossible

If the keyboard has everything but 5 pin midi you can get a converter like this: https://www.hobbytronics.co.uk/audio-midi/usb-midi-converter I know it's not ideal. Hobbytronics has lots of interesting gizmos. Looks like that's no longer sold, but there's a midiplus brand version: https://www.amazo...
