I loved the look of RX8 and was waiting for a sale on ‘standard’ but then RX9 came out and doesn’t work on my OS. I got the ‘elements’ version but that doesn’t have the excellent spectral editing.
Anyone know if you can buy previous version of RX anywhere?

Re: I’d really appreciate some feedback...
Hi again folks. So this is needless:fearless reworked and updated. I’ve completely re-done the vocals, this time in the right key (oops  - well spotted everyone). Reduced the reverb and added a number of elements/automation which I hope keep the listener’s attention. As you can see it’s only sl ...

Re: CC Controllable EQ plugin!?!
TDR Nova works in 32-bit. Not as good as Pro-Q3 but it’s free. It’s also a dynamic EQ, like the paid version, just has fewer bands.

Re: I’d really appreciate some feedback...
Really helpful feedback here, thanks folks. I want to try and keep the length. Could maybe cut it a bit, but I hear what you’re saying about mixing it up to reward the listener. Listening to the Pink Floyd song there’s a sizeable contrast between the verses and the choruses. Something definitely lac ...

Re: Rhetorical mixing question from the heart.....
I wonder if hearing is like taste and smell. If you keep tasting or smelling something that isn’t great for long enough, eventually it doesn’t seem too bad. Then leave it for a while, when you go back to it you realise how bad it was. I guess that’s one of the reasons we use references. To reset the ...

Re: Should I update?
You’re on an 8 year old piece of kit so I doubt you’d see an improvement with new software. Probably the opposite, even if it’s well specced. Ultimately, Apple want you to keep updating your hardware. Ps if you really must update, finish any projects first and get them bounced. My worst experience up ...

Re: Installing soft synths in Logic
Have you checked Logic’s plugin manager?
Or go to "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components" and see if it’s there. If not, find it and put it there.

Re: What's your favourite post editing software without monthly fees
RX8 is on a deal right now because RX9 is coming out soon. So you get discounts on RX8 and then a free upgrade when 9 is out. It’s not quite as cheap as I’ve seen it before but then before it didn’t come with a free upgrade.
The deal is definitely on Plug-in Boutique and probably others.

Re: TS or TRS cable from synth to interface?
Thanks Dave, after 2 hours googling I was beginning to think the cable was the problem, but still was wondering if it was the settings or a duff interface. I knew I should’ve come here first - you replied within 15 minutes

TS or TRS cable from synth to interface?
So I just bought my first analogue synth - a UNO synth - that has only 3.5mm audio out. And I have a Focusrite Saffire 6 interface. The mic inputs on the Saffire both work fine. Putting headphones on the synth works fine. I found a 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead that came with some speaker, connected a 3.5mm ...

Ps if you do or if anyone else does use the stems - it’s 115bpm and in A minor. Each stem is a .wav file and covers the entire length of the song, ie bars 1 to 183

BJG and Drew, thank you both so much for listening and taking time to comment. I’ve got some fixing to do on the vocal - by the time I get it right on the take my mouth has dried out! :headbang: I think there’s some eqing to do on the reverb. Phew, this one's been a long time coming. Unfortunately (or rather fortunately, of course) I got a new job since my song 'natasha' and as the job pays the rent I had to focus on that.
