... this isn't the Lounge so probably best not go any further here! :D Whoops, I shouldn't have allowed myself to be enticed! It's difficult to resist sometimes, isn't it? Without inviting further such discussion (in this thread, at least), I can't resist (sorry) suggesting two things to ...

Re: Thunderbolt or USB-C interface?
As I understand it USB C is a type of connector, it is used for USB3, USB4 and Thunderbolt 4, it is not a specific protocol. Yep, numbers are protocol versioning, letters are physical connector formats, simples. So, the thread title didn't make sense to me. If the OP would tell us the USB ...

I see. Have you tried silk stockings? I mean for keeping dust out. Yes, I have! ...oh, for dust, right... :shifty: No, nylon does the job. Re: US-Built Audio PC recommendations?
Something else about that 4U case is that there are no dust filters. For air flow this case has open grills. That's good for cooling. Recent cases have a fine mesh over the grills to stop dust getting in. They reduce the amount of dust that gets inside the case, and are removable and easily cleaned ...

Re: Guitar Tab - Generator
Looks like my information is out of date. I got the idea, years ago, when looking for a GUI front end for LilyPond, and Musescore was suggested (in LilyPond's documentation, IIRC). Seems that LilyPond was dropped from Musescore two or three versions ago. The engraving still looks like LilyPond to me ...

Re: Guitar Tab - Generator
Yes, they are separate projects, but LilyPond is an open-source engraver and is used in the back end of several notation editors, including Musescore (I wouldn't be surprised if Dorico also used it, but I don't know, for sure, if it does or not). What I'm saying is that you could move multiple ...

Re: Guitar Tab - Generator
Musescore's notation-to-tab algorithm is basic. It uses the fingering nearest to an open string. This is the default behavior of LilyPond (which is what's under Musescore's hood). In LilyPond, you could change this by setting a value for minimumFret and setting restrainOpenStrings to #t. Maybe ...

Re: Is the Mac mini M4 silent?
Personally, I won't go near anything from Apple, but I have an ASUS Chromebox mounted to the back of my TV (also driving two other displays). It's great, and I only hear its fan running if I go behind the TV and put an ear within a few inches of it.
