Re: Advice needed! Amplifiers…
It is indeed a shame about the insistence on a new amplifier. Hi Fi amps are among the most reliable and long lived of electronic devices. I have recently pressed a 40 year old Toshiba receiver into service. Not been turned on for at least 5 years but still works perfectly (except all the scale lam...

Re: Advice needed! Amplifiers…
If new and within budget are the main criteria, then this fits the bill. Like the Marantz, it has an RIAA preamp for a moving magnet cartridge built-in, as well as having a grounding terminal. https://www.auna-multimedia.co.uk/Hifi-Equipment/HiFi-Amplifiers/CD708-HiFi-Stereo-Amplifier-600W-brushed-...

Hi all! I have bought my sister a project turntable for her birthday as she has one of those crappy all in ones currently… Her wife wants to get her the speaker and amp set up she wants to compliment it, but I am struggling to find amplifiers nowadays that have the grounding terminal needed for this...

Re: Recommendations for decks for a beginner?
Thanks guys! What if I’m thinking of not using vinyl? Is that blasphemy? 😉 Then you don’t need decks! Ah! Naive use of language on my part! I would like to try digital first and then move on if I get the swing of it.. but be nice to spin some of my own tracks and don’t want to pay for vinyl re mast...

Re: Recording techniques for "crowd" vocals?
Thanks Elf
I'll give that a go, if it does have to be me moving about shouting in pretend scouser accents and the like then that's the way it'll go but I'll ask friends!

Recording techniques for "crowd" vocals?
Hello! Hi! I have a new project on the go and it's got quite an angry feel to it.. I want to achieve a backing vocal that sounds like a crowd or a mob even, you know almost like football crowd chanting but lesser people. Problem is it's just little old me.. Any ideas? I was thinking of using my BOSS...

Re: New mix for opinions.. please 😊
Hi again, I had a zoom session with Drew earlier who unwound the wonders of parallel compression for me :-) I have added this to the vocal, tried to level out the parts and then bussed it to try and get consistent levels and boosted them a bit. I needed to add some automation on the chorus as it was...

Re: New mix for opinions.. please 😊
Well, it sounds like a barking dog! :-) >I still want to try to fix it. I think i just need to level it up and sort the volume. OK, I won't go on about it after this reply! But do remember, you KNOW what the words are. A lot of the problems aren't level or e.q., you just aren't pronouncing the word...
