Re: Mastering suitable for club to streaming

To answer in your words yes he/she is probably referring to 'one size fits all' rather than multiple versions. They are probably referring to the sound quality of the master translating well to all these locations and formats. For example they will have controlled bass, mids and treble well, the dy...

Re: RIP Soundcloud?

I think Soundcloud is finished because, for example, I wanted to find out about upgrading to Pro. i searched the small print (pages of the bloody stuff) to find out what the minimum period was. Nothing. AND you can't contact them. So forget it, they are bloody useless! There's no minimum period - y...

Re: Problem with Cubase "Insert Silence" Command ... anyone have this on their setup?

Sorry, guy, I've tried this and have no problems - it works as expected. I sent 4 channels to a group, put volume and panning automation on them and the group (just random slopes) and an insert on the group (the Octaver) and automated the 1st octave. I set a range of 4 bars. All the automation shift...

I checked it - it's an OEM copy from a third party, as I think any new copy of Win 7 is.

Re: Cubase's Groove Agent SE4 ... How does a MIDI track get routed to a specific drum sound?

You "play" the pads with MIDI notes, not channels. Use only one MIDI track.
The pads on GA should be displaying the note they respond to.
Check the manual for "drum maps" - it explains better than I can.

Re: Why to protect your ears (by AC/DC)

There should be more awareness about the dangers of loud music especially from cans, ear buds and the like... There should indeed... although there'a a great deal more now than there was a decade ago, and the maximum output level of portable music players is limited by law in Europe (although like ...

Re: DAW Latency - why not auto fixed?

Speaking as a Cubase user, it's my understanding that Live is notorious for its lack of pdc. :frown:
You should try posting in a dedicated Live forum.
Most solutions I've seen are mostly of the workaround variety, usually unsatisfactory.
Hopefully some Live users here will chip in.

Re: The BBC seem to be advertising B&W Speakers

Not an opinion, just an observation: Watch the last half-hour of the Monday-Friday morning news programme (08:30 - 09:00. There is ALWAYS a "guest" being interviewed, touting their latest/just released DVD/CD/book/film you-name-it. And this spot is mentioned about every 15 mins during the ...

Re: Windows 10 for musicians SOS article

Quick question (ok, longwinded question): I've heard that there is a 30-day limit for rolling back to Win7/8 - does this mean that if I install Win10 over my Win7 install and then do a clean Win10 install, and after say, 6 weeks, decide it's not for me and want to go back to Win7/8, I cannot do so, ...

You can get it on Amazon... And I would imagine most other computer shop sites.

Re: Are they necessary?

Have a look at the bit of the movie It Might Get Loud where The Edge is writing new tunes. He quite self-effacingly announces that it's lucky he plays electric, because if you turn off the effects, there's nothing going on. And then he demonstrates. It's quite funny. This is why - a lot of guitaris...

Does anyone else on here use Compatibility view as if you're using the DAW on earlier windows versions in Windows 10?
