Re: What determine the length of a song ?

You can use Imphenzia Audio System which released some time ago. You can find it in the userlibs forum. Blitz3D doesn't have a function to find audio file length.

Re: Rackmount DC Power Distribution To Replace Wall Wart PSUs

I have three words, Rack Mounted Powerboard. Get one with as many outlets as you can, or buy more than one if you have a lot of rack gear. Mount it on the back rail if you rack has one. That and either cable ties or preferably velcro ties will solve the problem. ...and just so you know a faraday ...

Re: Comparison between Ezdrummer 2 and Groove Agent 4?

I got GA4 a little while ago, and have been using it more, and more, it's a very good product. especially the integration with Cubase is awesome.
You could also look into FxPansion Geist, and EZ Drummer 2. all are very good.

Re: What's going on with the sound levels on my mic?

Audacity volume controls are for playback. They do not affect recording. If you want to boost recording levels, you can do so using Windows' sound controls. Depending on the driver for your sound card, you may be able to adjust the microphone recording volume. Personally, I control my recording ...

Re: Scales - Chord Book ?

Don't bother just learning scales; learn theory properly, a bunch of scale shapes won't tell you anything about anything.

Read these instead: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/search.php?value=the+crusade&search_type=columns and ask in our SOS Forum, if you have any questions.

Re: Which MBP + which upgrades...?

The quad core CPU will probably throw off too much heat for the Mac mini. And if you need a quad core processor, you don't need a Mac mini...

All the other upgrades are totally plausible!

Re: Logic Pro X: Art Conductor - A New instrument articulation switcher

Yeah !!!! Vienna Ensemble Pro creates a server on your computer or on your ‘slave’ – a computer used specifically to host large sample libraries and take demand off your main machine. This server allows you to host your music software plugins and effects plugins outside of your DAW. Plan your VEP/DAW ...

Re: My vocals just won't sit right on my new track

It might help others if you describe your current process... Are you already using any fx or compression on your vocals at this point...
My 'shot in the dark' (and without actually listening to your tracks) is that you might need to read up on using reverb on vox...
hope it helps...

Re: taming peaks

During mixing and final output, you need to ensure that audio levels are consistent compared to a reference audio level, such as audio tone. Loud parts should be consistently loud, and quiet parts should be consistently quiet (but not so quiet that they get lost in the noise). The dynamic range (the ...

Re: Driverack feedback Destroyer Vs Behringer

I have a dbx Driverack 260 and an iEQ31, both of which have the feedback suppressors in them. They do a good job of killing most feedback in nightmare venues, but can't overcome some of it (like a ride cymbal feeding into the lead singer's mic). You can set the filter width to as tight as 1/80 of an ...

Re: Guitar speaker advice

My guess is its more of an amp/amp setting thing than pickups. Not familiar what pups are in the JV but I'd start with pickup height, pedal and amp tweaking (in a full rehearsal, not alone at home).

I personally think they look cool when done right. Re: Best WIFI router - A&H QU series?

if speed is what your after the you will be wanting an IEEE 802.11ac spec router (1gbs) or for the extra coverage you would be best buying a pair of 500mbs power line adapters and the hook up a WiFi repeater.

Re: General rule of thumb ... are collision frequencies "wasted" ... should they be stamped out like roaches?

Re: What is a perpetual archive license?

I would recommend Earthworks' pres. They are perhaps excessively accurate including an extrememly low noise floor and THD in the ppm. It is an uncolored pre designed for accuracy, so if you want a beefier or warmer or otherwise effected sound - go for something else. Also, I think Presonus' pres are ...
