My guess is its more of an amp/amp setting thing than pickups. Not familiar what pups are in the JV but I'd start with pickup height, pedal and amp tweaking (in a full rehearsal, not alone at home).

Go to Environment from menu, select Mixer layer, mark and delete tracks you don't want.
