Re: Circle Guitar

First I've heard of it. But what I can add is that it uses a Cycfi Research Nu Multi 6 pickup. This has individual pickups for each string. And there is also a Roland GK option available to compliment it.

Re: LR Baggs Element End Pin Preamp Woes

It's definitely worth having a closer look at the jack socket assembly. In all the examples I've seen over the years the pre-amp PCB is soldered direct to one or more of the contacts of a fairly standard socket. With a bit of luck you should be able to identify a suitable replacement socket. I would...

Re: Roland A90 repair

It might be worth contacting Roland UK to see if they can supply the UK spec A90 power supply as a spare part.

Historically, Roland UK have been very helpful. And pretty much any UK electronics tech could do the replacement for you.

Wonks suggested a little more than that. Have you tried exactly what he described or just switching off and on again?

Re: Small budget, broken sound system, tech in over head.

That i can answer they still have cassettes they still use for a few that sing most have been digitized, just not all of them yet. It's a Tascam 302, its recording duties were replaced by a Tascam DP-004. So it will likely be pulled from the rack in the next few years. You have your answer there. S...

Re: Small budget, broken sound system, tech in over head.

As always, some very good advice already. What I would add is to refer back to your Subject title and the contents of your original post. You declare yourself to be in over your head, and there are what appear to be arbitrary restraints on you. What initially caught my eye was the requirement to ret...

Re: Poor/Low sound from guitar

Welcome to the SOS forums Vorph. Are you using the guitar with a guitar amplifier, or are you recording it direct through an audio interface? Initially this sounds more like a problem with your amplifier/recording chain than with the guitar. Can you test your guitar through another amplifier? That m...

Re: Gig gloves recommendations please

My crewing days came to an end a couple of decades ago. But when I was earning a living as crew my go to were fingerless leather gloves. Tried riggers gloves once and never again, far too impractical, and way too hard to grab flight case handles. The fingerless leather gloves made it easy to grab ha...

Re: Adding a bass synth.... the long way!

Many years ago when SOS attended Analogue to Digital in Exeter I fitted a GK3 kit to a 6 string Yamaha bass belonging to my late brother.

I still have it around and will grab some pics at some point to share.

Re: Covers and correctness II

You like and appreciate those blues musicians and don’t consider Clapton of the same ilk and that’s fine. Equally others do consider him of the same ilk, or just don’t care and like what he does and that’s fine too. There is far too much snobbery in music. And more to the point, the blues musicians...

Re: Removing old sticky tape from a mixer?

WD40 last resort because of it going everywhere. Handy Hint... With all of these aerosol sprays it can be a problem targeting them accurately, even when there is a drinking straw you can attach to the nozzle. Keep a selection of small screw top jars which you can spray into to collect the fluid. Fo...
