Replacement for classic reverb

I keep having issues with 32-bit plugins, as in artifacts and slight crackle, or they dont even work at all, when I ported them over with JBridge. Most plugins I dont mind very much, but after trying several reverb plugins, freeware and payware, I still need a replacement of the Kjaerhus Classic Reverb. A simple, smooth and flexible verb with a clear and user-friendly interface. I tried several reverbs but it's just not what I'm looking for. Let me give a couple of examples from my experience with reasonably familliar plugins. The RVerb is nice, but there's no mono version and I need it to recreate a little resonating of snare and tom kettles, so no stereo, it gets too big, too fast and sounds too far out from the position of the instrument itself. Trueverb has a locked pre-delay, which is really annoying for this job and the H-Reverb is one of the most user-unfriendly, counter-intuitive plugins I've ever seen (it might be me, I'm autistic, so I hear I think 'different'... but the H-Reverb just doesnt work for me, I really hate that plugin)
The AR Plates has a very nice sound, but the reverb time steps are quite large, the first two steps of this verb would be plenty for me if that would be the complete range.

The Classic Verb has such a clear interface and moving the knobs immediately sound clear and you know where you need to go, it's smooth, it can be subtle and all that is what I cant find so far.

Anyone who can advise me on some plugins to try?

Maybe try the Valhalla stuff?

Excellent sounding, clear interfaces, great prices.

They do Valhalla Room, Valhalla Plate, and Valhalla Vintage Verb, depending on your reverb tastes. Plate is the only one with a Mono version though, but it's easy enough to reduce the width of a stereo signal anyway....

Slightly confused by this comment? Although the parameters for each preset start in a linked mode you can 'unlink' them to adjust things separately. Or I may be misunderstanding your point.
Personally I really like Sound Toys new 'Little Plate', but it isn't a universal solution.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to try those and see what it is.

@Blinddrew I'm not sure, but the pre-delay box is always greyed out... Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I'm just working with the demo and I'm not very familiar with it yet. I'll have another look.

I use TrueVerb and predelay can be set in two ways. The natural way leaves the pre-delay box greyed-out. The pre-dealy will be calculated based on your choice of room size and distance.

If you uncheck the little blue arrow that links pre-delay to your room size, then pre-delay is changeable. But this means it won't be 'true' anymore since it wont be consistent with the room.

Instead of adjusting pre-delay directly, just change the room size and dimensions and distance and let it calculate the pre-delay for you. That is how they intended it to be used it appears. Great for natural sounding places. It is never too strong and never has that artificial sizzle. You can move something in and out, forward and back with one control (distance). Or make the room get bigger. That is what makes TrueVerb so good. It keeps all the parameters consistent with a physical place.

Make sure you try out Valhalla's Vintageverb. Very clear GUI, great sound.
