My new album dilemma

So, I’ve just uploaded my new album to be released on 10th August 2020 and it’s been sent to stores and contains six tracks. ]

The thing is, in the metadata on the MP3’s, I’ve put the year of the album as 2021. What do I do? Would this just be that I can’t get any royalties until 2021? And would it look bad for my record label? It is a genuine mistake.

First thing to do is to check whether your distributor allows you to change the metadata once it has been sent to the stores.

Second thing - I think the release date is the most important piece of information and you’re probably ok with royalties if that is correct.
